1.20 Irish EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden 5f 164yds

Chestnutter has strong claims of getting off the mark at the fourth attempt. She showed up well on her first two runs to reach the frame in Fairyhouse and Leopardstown maidens won by Velocidad and Red Linn respectively.

However, her best effort so far came in last month’s Ballyhane Stakes where she ran an excellent fifth to Sacred Bridge. A repeat of that effort should enable her to deal with the 76-rated Gabbys Girl whom she would appear to have an edge over on a line through Tut Tut.

Gabbys Girl would have every chance if returning to the form of her head second to Tut Tut at Leopardstown a few weeks ago.

SELECTION: CHESTNUTTER

Next Best: Gabbys Girl

1.50 Treo Eile, Retraining Ireland’s Racehorses Handicap (45-70) 5f

A chance is taken on Amazing Emma who showed signs of returning to peak form when second to Resourceful Man in a Dundalk handicap on Thursday. Previously she was a somewhat disappointing favourite in a handicap at the Curragh on Oaks Weekend but that wasn’t her true running and this is a less demanding level of competition.

In addition she had been in very good form prior to the Curragh with her efforts including a course and distance win here the previous week for which she is only 6lbs higher.

The consistent Dragons Call, in first time cheekpieces, will surely be thereabouts after putting together a number of decent efforts in defeat. Her recent showings have come over 6f but she has won over the minimum trip at this track in the past.

SELECTION: AMAZING EMMA

Next Best: Dragons Call

2.25 Troytown Bar Handicap 5f

Only Spoofing is a hopeful choice to bounce back to form in a race he won three years ago. He also recorded another course-and-distance success here in May and he followed that victory with a superb second in the Dash at Epsom and a fourth in the Rockingham.

He hasn’t quite reached those heights since then, but even a repeat of his penultimate effort in an ultra-competitive Goodwood handicap would give him strong claims.

Arnhem ran very well to finish fifth in the Rockingham and he followed that with a creditable second to Provocateuse at the Curragh. He appeals as a likely contender on his return from 48 days off.

SELECTION: ONLY SPOOFING

Next Best: Arnhem

3.00 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery 5f

A tentative vote goes to the experienced Heart To Heart who is making her seventh appearance of the season. She has shaped with promise on a few occasions this term including when finishing second to Benevolent at this track over an extended 5f last week.

She is dropping in trip by some 164 yards here and that could make all the difference this afternoon. Speedacus has a chance on some of his runs, notably his second to Geocentric at this track two months ago and his third to Ernest Rutherford at Naas last week.

The top-weight, Threebagsfull, will find this easier than the last couple of races he has contested and he is unlikely to be far away.

SELECTION: HEART TO HEART

Next Best: Benevolent

3.35 Irish EBF Supporting Irish Champions Weekend Fillies Maiden 1m

Vario might well prefer a slightly shorter trip but she has been fitted with a hood for the first time and that could enable her to carry the day. This Kingman filly began her career with a fourth in a Leopardstown listed race last year and she hasn’t quite reached that level in two runs this term, but she has still run creditably to be placed in maidens won by Woodland Garden and Ulster Blackwater.

She does have 1¾l to find with Climate who finished a place in front of her in 1m maiden at Naas but is put forward in the belief that we have yet to see the best of her this season.

Climate looks the most likely threat on her Naas showing but Haziya is a capable type with a number of solid runs to her name and she is entitled to the utmost respect on her return from 71 days off the track.

SELECTION: VARIO

Next Best: Climate

4.10 Gormanlough Apprentice Handicap (45-65) 1m 2f

A tentative selection goes to Dream Wisely who has a couple of decent recent efforts to her name. She was beaten just a nose and a neck in a handicap won by Clueless Hill over this course and distance two months ago and she lines up off a solid third to Mokhles at Dundalk. She wouldn’t have to improve much to win this.

Jazzelle was well-supported for her last run at Leopardstown and ran accordingly as she was beaten just ½l by Dawn Tapper. A repeat performance should see her involved. Harbanaker is another with solid prospects having finished just over 1l behind Jazzelle last time.

SELECTION: DREAM WISELY

Next Best: Jazzelle

4.45 Racing Again 18 September Handicap (45-65) 1m 6f

Jeff Kidder didn’t run anywhere near his best on his most recent flat outing two months ago, but last season’s Cheltenham Festival winner and Grade 1 scorer is worth another chance. He made tremendous progress over hurdles last season which suggested that he could do similarly well on the flat and he can be forgiven that Killarney effort as his yard probably wasn’t firing at the time.

Dollar Value got loose on the lead here last week to win a handicap over this trip. Similar tactics will be harder to employ this time but he still warrants respect.

SELECTION: JEFF KIDDER

Next Best: Dollar Value
