2.05 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF FILLIES MAIDEN 7F

A chance is taken on Californiadreaming who drops markedly in class following her eighth in the Irish 1000 Guineas. This experienced 80-rated filly should appreciate switching to better ground and the form she showed to reach the frame in maidens won by Planchart and Claudio Monteverdi suggests that she can make her mark. Allure is a threat as she running for the first time in a year when finishing a creditable third to Suvenna over this trip at Dundalk last week. Cry Me A River’s comeback third at Dundalk entitles her to respect while Hazmiyra and Maoineas, a half-sister to the useful Aerialist, are well related newcomers from top yards.

2.35 OWENSTOWN STUD STAKES (LISTED) 7F

Yuften, who crossed the line in second in a French Group 1 two seasons ago, can record his first win at stakes level. He built on an encouraging first run for his yard to win a 7f Dundalk conditions race at his leisure last month and he should be well up to holding his own in good company. He is preferred to the lightly raced In My Pocket whose season began with a stylish third to Steip Amach in the Group 3 Amethyst Stakes at Leopardstown. Anamba looked a fine prospect in just two runs last year, the second of which saw her finish a ½l second to Coolmore in a Curragh Group 3 last September. She commands the utmost respect on her first run since then. Embiran must be considered with his third to Awtaad and Blue De Vega in the Tetrarch Stakes having worked out so well.

Selection: YUFTEN

3.10 COOLMORE WAR COMMAND ROCHESTOWN (C&G) STAKES (LISTED) 6F

After making a perfect start to his career in maiden over this course and distance last month, Psychedelic Funk looked every inch a top notch juvenile when dismissing his rivals by 6l in a conditions race here recently. He is taking on a couple of useful sorts but he simply cannot be opposed. He could have most to fear from Hakeem who bolted up at Nottingham last week having previously chased home the subsequent listed scorer Global Applause in a Newmarket maiden. Lundy built on a nice debut behind Caravaggio to win a Leopardstown maiden in good style several weeks ago. He might be a bigger threat than Peace Envoy who won on his debut before then finding King Electric too strong at the Curragh.

Selection: PSYCHEDELIC FUNK

3.40 COOLMORE STUD FILLIES EBF SPRINT STAKES (LISTED) 6F

Cuff is put forward in an intriguing renewal of this race. This Galileo filly progressed nicely from her first run to win a maiden over this course and distance earlier in the month. She found herself in front sooner than ideal last time but still won a shade cosily and may have had more in hand than her short head winning margin over Wayside Flower would suggest. Yulong Baobei made a striking 6l winning debut at Dundalk last week. She is taking a major rise in class but looks a potentially smart sort and she cannot be underestimated. Wayside Flower must be closely considered while the English raider Megan Lily showed a good deal of promise on her debut at York last weekend.

Selection: CUFF

4.15 BAR ONE RACING LACKEN STAKES (GROUP 3) 6F

This could see Washington DC make it three wins from four outings this term. The Zoffany colt made an impressive return in a 7f contest at Dundalk in early April and he bounced back from a below par effort at Ascot to win a near 6f listed race at Navan in good style two weeks ago. That recent 2¼l victory over Diamond Fields gives him a clear edge over several of these rivals. Smash Williams won at Group 3 level last season. He wasn’t at his best in a French Group 2 on his final start of the season but that run should not be held against him and he represents a formidable threat. Aclaim is unbeaten in two outings and won a reasonable Newmarket handicap over this trip on his comeback. He has work to do on ratings but is still very interesting.

Selection: WASHINGTON DC

Next best: Smash Williams

Theodorico was deployed in a pace setting role in the Ballysax Stakes last time but a look at his previous form would indicate that he is more than capable of making his presence felt here. He showed up well in some decent maidens last season before winning at Leopardstown nursery and his 5l second to Awtaad in the Madrid Handicap two months ago is an especially strong piece of form. He is chosen ahead of The Mouse Doctor whose first run on turf at Killarney last week yielded a career best display that saw him beat Aspen Mountain by a short head. He is now 5lbs higher but should still be able to play a major role here. Rayisa, a stakes-placed runner last season, is interesting despite having to carry top weight on her comeback.

5.15 NEW BBQ EVENING FORMAT AT NAAS HANDICAP 1M

He did very well on a sound surface last summer, winning three handicaps, and Plough Boy could be primed to strike once again. The five-year-old relished the switch to decent ground to chase home Dont Bother Me in a Leopardstown handicap earlier this month and that run suggested that he was set for further success this summer. Admittedly he is 5lbs higher than when last successful but he could still deal with the threat posed by Duchess Andorra who picked up 4lbs for being beaten just over 6½l into fourth in a Gowran Park listed race won by Bocca Baciata last month. Before that she ran well to take sixth in the Irish Lincoln and those two efforts would suggest she can win again this season. Golden Raven did well in just three runs last season and could make up into a quality handicapper this term.

Selection: PLOUGH BOY
