12.20 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden 6f

Soul Seeker should have derived enough benefit from his recent third at Limerick to make him the one to beat here. Dermot Weld’s colt made much of the running on that occasion before being reeled in late on. Dropping back a furlong is unlikely to cause him too many problems, so he can get his head in front.

Elusive King was just getting the hang of racing when staying on nicely late on over this course and distance last time. He should come on from that introduction and looks another who can fight out the finish here.

12.50 Christmas Party Raceday At Naas Handicap 5f

Takeachancejimmy, who has done most of his racing over farther, should have the pace to be competitive here. A winner over an extended 5f at Navan earlier in the year, he is adaptable tripwise and travels really easily in his races. From what appears a prime slot in stall two, he can race close to the pace before staying on strongly late on.

Fridtjof Nansen won under Colin Keane earlier in the the season but has been unlucky a couple of times since. Reunited with the former champion here, he can make a bold show.

Nobel Prize stepped up on his debut to run second in what appears to have been a strong maiden last time. The form of that race has already been boosted in the interim and this one should be capable of adding further value to its overall strength. A wide draw isn’t ideal over this trip but he could have the class to overcome it.

Chiricahua is also entitled to be a contender as he showed plenty of promise on his debut at Navan last month. The strength in depth of that race has yet to be determined, but runners from his stable tend to improve from their first start anyway.

SELECTION: NOBEL PRIZE

2.00 Membership At Naas Nursery Handicap 7f

Estepona Sun has improved with each start, including when staying-on nearest at the finish in the valuable Foran Series final over course and distance last time.

He should have more scope for improvement than the majority of these and might just be on a nice mark for his handicap debut here.

Too Soon To Panic has run solidly in three decent maidens to date so is entitled to carry her weight. Andrew Slattery claims a valuable 5lbs here, which should make her task that much easier.

2.35 Naas Nursery Of Champions Handicap 1m2f

Ultra Pride was a very impressive winner over this trip at the Curragh in August before failing to get home over 12f last time. With the form of her previous start having been well-advertised by the runnerup in the interim, she has the look of a well-handicapped horse now. Rory Cleary looks a significant booking, so the hint should be taken.

Gentile Bellini has been absent since winning his maiden back in April but could literally be anything. A lightly raced sort making his handicap debut, he has to be greatly respected as he bids to cap another fine season for his connections.

Dalton Highway deserves to win one of these staying handicaps, having finished second in three such races this season.

He has been somewhat unfortunate to come up against a very well treated rival on each occasion but with a more exposed line up here his chance is there for all to see.

Buildmeupbuttercup just didn’t appear to get home in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last time having arrived with what appeared a well-timed challenge.

She will find this drop in trip more to her liking and it is possible that she still has plenty up her sleeve in these long distance handicaps.

SELECTION: DALTON HIGHWAY

Warnaq could cap what has been an incredible season for Matthew Smith by taking this listed contest. Only just denied in a similar race last time, the mare will appreciate the testing conditions more than most and has no issues with the trip.

Riven Light is undoubtedly the class act in the race but has never fully convinced over 12f.

If it turns into a slowly run race his chances will greatly increase, but on balance he may just find one or two too strong in the climb to the line.

SELECTION: WARNAQ

Next best: Riven Light
