1.10 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden 5f 205y

Brostaigh should be good enough to shed her maiden tag at the fourth time of asking. Joseph O’Brien’s filly had gone close on a couple of occasions, before running a solid race when competing in listed class last time. The daughter of Footstepsinthesand can put her experience to good use here in order to see off some promising rivals.

Karkiyna boasts a similar profile to the O’Brien filly, in that she has shown enough to suggest she can win her maiden. The form of her earlier runs has been well advertised subsequently and she seemed to appreciate the drop in trip last time. Expect to see this Aga Khan-owned filly finishing fast and late down the wide outside.

SELECTION: BROSTAIGH

1.40 Tifrums Irish EBF (C&G) Maiden 5f 205y

El Magnifique may have improved sufficiently from his debut effort to take this ordinary contest. A slightly unlucky third at Bellewstown first time up, the son of El Kabeir represents Michael O’Callaghan who has a fantastic record with his juveniles this season. With most of his string improving from their initial outing it would be no surprise to see a much better effort.

Kirsapp looked smart on his debut at the Curragh in April but has proved somewhat disappointing in two subsequent starts. A reproduction of that first run would just about make him the one to beat so it could be a bit premature to write off his chances.

SELECTION: EL MAGNIFIQUE

Next best: Kirsapp

Lady Of Inishfree looks well treated by these race conditions as she is most likely a good deal better than this grade. An unlucky sixth on her racecourse debut at Gowran, Noel Meade’s filly showed huge potential when fourth in a listed race at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend. The bare form of that run marks her down as a mid-90s-rated filly, so she should be able to win here before going on to bigger things.

Tut Tut is a solid handicapper who should make his presence felt. Although lacking the potential of the Meade filly, she has plenty of racing experience, something that could stand to her in the latter stages of the contest.

Oodnadatta, who has been set some stiff tasks since making a winning juvenile debut, can gain her second career success. A smart filly at her best, she has been placed in Group 1 company and run big races at a slightly lower level. This represents one of her better opportunities for some time, so it will be disappointing if she can’t collect.

Emaniya finished behind the Harrington filly when they clashed at The Curragh in August so has plenty to find on that run. However, she still looks the biggest threat on overall form and has to be considered with Colin Keane in the saddle.

SELECTION: OODNADATTA

Next best: Emaniya

Silent Performance can follow up her recent Down Royal win and credit young Daniel King with a third career success. The daughter of Zoffany is only 1lb above her winning mark once the rider’s claim is taken into account, so she appears well treated by these conditions. Denis Hogan continues to fire in the winners and this four-year-old can add another to the mounting tally.

Miss Florentine is a remarkably consistent filly who is a real credit to Ross O’Sullivan, who is another trainer who has his horses firing on all cylinders at the moment and Robert Whearty is sure to get a great spin.

SELECTION: SILENT PERFORMANCE

4.00 Irish EBF Auction Series Nursery Handicap 5f 205y

It’s Snowing has more scope for improvement than most of her rivals so should be good enough to resume winning ways. A maiden winner at Dundalk on her penultimate start, she stayed on nicely when nearest at the finish at Fairyhouse last time. With the form of that race having received a boost from the fourth-placed horse, she looks the one to beat.

Admiral D looked good when winning his maiden at Listowel and ran well in much better company after. He needs to bounce back from a below par run last time but if doing so he holds every chance.

SELECTION: IT’S SNOWING

Next best: Admiral D

4.35 EquisoftLive Handicap 5f 205y

Rough Diamond looks like finally getting his ideal conditions; (almost) six furlongs with an ease in the ground. Eddie Lynam looked to have a very smart sprinter on his hands when this horse made a winning debut at the Curragh last August. His next run when second on his handicap debut in a decent race at headquarters marked him down as one to follow.

With excuses for most of his runs since then, he has dropped 8lbs and his rider takes an additional 5lb off his back. It will be a surprise if he isn’t fighting out the finish.

Half Nutz is a good sprinter when on song but needs everything to go his way. The son of Sir Prancealot seems to reserve his best for this venue so he must be considered.

SELECTION: ROUGH DIAMOND

Zawara has improved with each start this season and could be set for her biggest success in this closing race. A staying on fourth in a messy affair at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend, she should have sufficient stamina provided the ground doesn’t get too soft. Already a winner at this track, the Aga Khan-owned four-year-old can record a third career victory.

Thunder Kiss won’t find it easy giving weight to some unexposed rivals, but she is the class filly in the field. She rarely disappoints at this level and despite a wide draw, should play a leading role.

SELECTION: ZAWARA
