1.35 CAOGA.COM IRISH EBF MAIDEN 6F

My Mystique shaped up well on her debut at Fairyhouse last month when beaten less than two lengths into third by Sometimesadiamond and the subsequent Group 3 runner-up Butterscotch. On that occasion she finished off nicely from midfield over the last quarter of a mile and she can be expected to improve off that initial effort.

She looks the one to beat and she is preferred to Yulong Warrior who has shown up well on both of his starts so far to fill the runner-up spot in maidens won by Sioux Nation and Treasuring. The Group 1 entrant Seahenge is a newcomer of major interest as a son of Scat Daddy and an American stakes winner who has already bred a Group 3-placed runner.

Selection: MY MYSTIQUE

Shore Step has come down 16lbs in the ratings since the start of the season and he is worth taking a chance on following an encouraging effort last time.

He was beaten just under four lengths into sixth by Fountain over seven furlongs at Fairyhouse last month which represents a respectable effort and he can do better now that he drops back to a distance which yielded three of his four wins during his time in Britain.

Johnny Murtagh’s horse can see off the hat-trick chasing Polly Douglas, who struck at Ayr in May and then followed up over this course and distance last week. She went up 10lbs for last week’s triumph but should still mount a strong challenge. Former course winner Haqeeba would be a lively contender on her penultimate fourth to Magic Bear at Navan.

Selection: SHORE STEP

Little Clarinet has crept up 9lbs in the weights for her last three runs but she appeals as one that can progress further. After reaching the frame in a couple of premier handicaps at the Curragh (over six furlongs and a mile) she enjoyed a deserved change in fortune when landing a six-furlong handicap at Leopardstown several weeks ago.

That day she defeated Hunaina by a half-length but she was value for more than the margin of victory and there are more handicaps to be won with her.

Her biggest danger could be the top weight Miss Power who has won three of her five career outings. This trip is something of an unknown for Eddie Lynam’s filly and she has gone up a stone in the ratings for her last three runs but she is another who looks open to further improvement.

Selection: LITTLE CLARINET

He showed he had made substantial progress from his debut when winning a seven-furlong Gowran Park maiden a fortnight ago and Rostropovich can take another step forward here.

This Frankel colt did show promise in the closing stages of the Leopardstown maiden won by Camelback before then winning nicely at the Kilkenny track where he picked up smartly in the closing stages to account for Medal Of Honour.

He crossed the line with a half-length to spare that day but he looked to have more in hand than the margin of victory would suggest.

Camelback, who was third to Brother Bear on his debut, turned in a fine effort in that aforementioned Leopardstown race where he dug deep in the closing stages to see off New To Town by a head. He too is a colt of considerable promise.

Selection: ROSTROPOVICH

Belle Boyd has shown that a maiden success is well within her reach on both her starts so far and she has an excellent opportunity to get off the mark. She started out with a third to Venezuela and the subsequent winner Moritzburg at Cork in May and last month at Leopardstown she again showed up well to finish second to the subsequent listed fourth Petticoat. A similar effort here would entitle her to take all the beating.

She might have most to fear from the newcomer Goldrush, a daughter of Frankel and her trainer Jim Bolger’s brilliant international racemare Alexander Goldrun.

Of the others Dayereh is respected following a debut third to Pocketfullofdreams over this course and distance last week.

A chance is taken on Claregate Street who has shown up well against her elders on her last couple of outings as well as progressing steadily with each handicap outing. After recording solid placed efforts at Navan and at this track, the daughter of Helmet won nicely over this course and distance last week. She defeated Future Frontier by three quarters of a length that day and is now 7lbs higher for what looks a stronger race but she definitely has more to offer.

Shes An Art is an interesting runner. She was rated 82 at one point last season after posting some useful efforts in maidens.

Since winning at Killarney last August she has struggled somewhat but an early season third to Light That at Cork was quite encouraging and she is more than capable of playing a leading role here.

Less Of That would be a more than deserving winner of this race. She has filled the runner-up position in three of her last four outings and a repeat of any of those efforts would suffice. On Tuesday evening at Gowran Park she went down by two and a half lengths to Level Of Intensity while her one length and three-quarters second to Veneer Of Charm at Navan in May is a strong piece of form. Autumn Breeze produced her best effort from five outings to date when she was fifth to Veneer Of Charm at Navan. She was beaten just over eight lengths but that effort represented a step in the right direction and she is still open to more progress than many of today’s rivals.

Selection: LESS OF THAT

Next Best: Autumn Breeze
