2.35 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MAIDEN 1M

John F Kennedy was beaten at odds-on when finishing a 2½l second to Hall Of Fame in a maiden over this trip at Leopardstown last month. However, he is entitled to have made good progress from then and that defeat did come against a very smart rival who had the advantage of a previous run. Portage is a huge threat having run a race full of promise on his debut on Oaks weekend when losing out by a neck to East India (who put the form to the test in a Tipperary listed race on Friday). Dunquin is respected having finished behind three subsequent winners when fourth to Accepted in a 6f maiden here on Derby weekend. Intransive is an interesting newcomer as a grandson of the top-class All At Sea, while Aared is out of a mare whose five runners to date have all won.

Selection: JOHN F KENNEDY

Next best: Portage

3.05 LODER EBF FILLIES RACE 7F

Following her highly encouraging debut at Galway last week, Tamadhor gets the vote. The Arcano filly made a bright start to her career at Ballybrit when finishing a ½l second to Legatissimo in what looked quite a well contested edition of the 7f fillies’ maiden. A repeat of that effort could enable her to see off Toogoodtobetrue who has to concede 4lb as a result of her assured victory in a 6f maiden here last month. Private Paradise finished in midfield behind Words in a maiden over this course and distance in June but she wasn’t beaten all that far and the form of that race has been working out notably well. Pour Deux is interesting as a Dansili newcomer out of quite a talented middle-distance filly.

Selection: TAMADHOR

Next best: Toogoodtobetrue

3.35 GABRIAL CURRAN MEMORIAL HANDICAP 7F

Have A Nice Day can record his third victory of the season. He is only 3lb higher than when defeating Focussed by a nose over this course and distance in June and, although that victory came on quick ground, the reliable Oratorio gelding also struck on yielding going at Roscommon two months ago. In addition he comes her off a fine fourth to Baraweez in a premier handicap over 7f at Galway last weekend where he was competing from out of the handicap. Oor Jock was less than 1l behind him on that occasion and he too is respected but he is some 15lb higher than when recording the first of two wins last month. The adaptable Fix It, who seems to handle most types of ground, is chasing a hat-trick and is another leading contender. On the form of his first two runs, Danish Duke would be interesting, while Anner Queen is a notable runner as she looked to have an excellent chance of picking up a Tipperary handicap on Friday night.

Selection: HAVE A NICE DAY

Next best: Fix It

4.35 PHOENIX SPRINT STAKES (GROUP 3) 6F

On his first appearance for over two months, Maarek can succeed. Last year’s Prix de l’Abbaye hero looked as good as ever earlier this season when winning the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes. He was beaten on his most recent start but subsequent events have shown that he lost absolutely nothing in defeat in going down by 2l to the subsequent Diamond Jubilee and July Cup hero Slade Power. The good to yielding ground suits and he is preferred to last year’s runner-up and Abbaye third Hamza. The latter was beaten less than 2½l into sixth in a decent 5f event at Goodwood last week and he has run right up to his best on his only two visits to this track. An Saighdiur ran quite well when third to Slade Power and Maarek in the Greenlands Stakes and is not without a chance. The very capable Russian Soul is slated to make a quick return to the fray having been due to contest Friday’s Abergwaun Stakes.

Selection: MAAREK

Next best: Hamza

5.05 KERRY BUSINESSWOMEN’S NETWORK HANDICAP 1M

Beau Satchel comes here chasing a four-timer and despite a 28lbs hike in the weights he makes plenty of appeal. The four-year-old returned from almost two months off the track to win a 7f handicap in good style at Galway last week. This is a significantly better race but he looks a fast improving sort and he will be quite at home on his return to a mile. He is preferred to another Galway winner in Hasanour who picked up a 7lb rise in the ratings for his head defeat of Sretaw. Hasanour looks another potential improver who should be adding to his tally in the coming weeks. Shalamzar caught the eye with his strong finishing third to Hasanour last week and he too has a live chance while the lightly weighted three-year-old Gone Viral is also respected. Lean And Keen is better than he showed in last week’s Topaz Mile.

Selection: BEAU SATCHEL

Next best: Hasanour

5.35 IRISH STALLON FARMS EBF FILLIES HANDICAP 6F

This looks a good opportunity for Kiss The Stars to open her account for the season. Her sole victory to date came over 6f on easy ground this time last year and she has since run a number of very solid races in sprint handicaps. In particular her short head second to Greek Canyon in a 6f handicap at Fairyhouse last month is a good effort and a repeat of that display could well suffice. Maremmadiavola is an interesting runner. She ran quite well in a 7f handicap won by Sparkle Factor here in June and this trip could suit better, while she has also dropped some 8lb in the weights since running a respectable sixth to Due Diligence in a decent 6f handicap at Naas in May.

Selection: KISS THE STARS

Next best: Maremmadiavola
