On her first outing in almost six months, Brickfield Belle looked much improved when romping to a 15-length bumper victory over the subsequent maiden hurdle scorer Baymount at Galway in September. A run over hurdles at Naas in February should stand to her now. The more experienced Kimi De Mai might be opposed after losing out narrowly when a short-price favourite over this distance at Kilbeggan in August, and again over a longer trip at Roscommon three weeks ago.

Thinkitdontjinxit showed enough on his first two bumper starts to get the nod. He went well from the front when runner-up on his debut at Thurles in February and again at the same course the following month, when second to Bon Bon Fizz, then bought by Gigginstown House Stud and second for Gordon Elliott in a winners’ bumper at the Punchestown Festival.

Starting out over hurdles now, he could have the measure of both Approval, rated 113 after finishing a moderate second at Listowel, and Global Submission, who runs for the first time since a hugely promising effort in a bumper at the 2024 Leopardstown Christmas Festival.

Way Down South must have a chance of following up on last week’s clear-cut success at Tramore.

He won his maiden hurdle over this course and distance, and again went well here in April when runner-up in a slightly stronger handicap hurdle. Tell Me See ran a nice race on his handicap hurdle debut at Listowel, while Zambezi Moon goes handicapping for the first time after a decent effort in a maiden hurdle at Listowel.

The hat-trick seeking At The Wings will certainly have his supporters too, if he secures a run as the reserve.

3.30 John Thomas McNamara Series (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle 3m

Duce Bigalow showed up well on his first start since winning in fine style at Down Royal in April, when third at Roscommon three weeks ago.

He was a strong favourite that day and the race’s form was boosted when runner-up Let Him Be won in a canter last Sunday.

Lucy Wang certainly ran her best race when second to Nelson Muntz at Gowran Park and looks the danger, while the step back up to this distance will suit. Strong Contender and going back up in trip will also be to the advantage of Sallap, a winner here in July.

Will Do, trained by Gordon Elliott (seeking a fourth win in this race in 11 years), was well-beaten in this race 12 months ago, but has a recent run under his belt this time. On his first start since the Punchestown Festival, he showed up well from the front when third to easy winner Love Me Tender at the Listowel Festival, most definitely his best effort since just losing out in the marathon Porterstown Handicap Chase last November.

Anyway ran his best race in a while when a conditions’ chase winner at Tramore in August and also went well on the flat at Listowel. Bossofthebrownies has his first start in a handicap chase, but is absent since taking second place in a Grade 3 novice chase in February. Last year’s 1-2, stable companions French Dynamite and Weveallbeencaught can’t easily be ruled out.

Zurich can win on his return. In great form this time last year, he won back-to-back handicap chases at Killarney and Cheltenham before showing up nicely at Doncaster in December, the Cheltenham Festival and, most recently, at Haydock in April. On that form, he can end the winning run of Miners Bridge, who is up in class after recent victories at Killarney and Sligo. Pride Of Place won a big pot at Killarney in July, while Park That has a chance too on his form earlier this year.

Future Prospect has experience and looks to have the beating of both Straight Home and Miss Fourie on her effort behind her own stable companion La Note Verte at Tramore in August, a run that looks all the better after the latter’s taking success at Listowel.

Echoing Silence could be her greatest threat, as she goes over fences for the first time on her seasonal reappearance.

She won well from Switch From Diesel over hurdles at Punchestown last December and went on to run nice races in stronger company at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals.
