2.05 LIMERICK RACECOURSE FAMILY FUN DAY MAIDEN HURDLE 2M

Storm Rising looks to have a good chance of building on a succession of runner-up finishes. He lost out by just a neck to Due Reward at Gowran last time having previously chased home Black Key at Listowel and Jetez over this course and distance in May.

His rating makes him the one to beat and in first time cheekpieces he can get his turn at the expense of Zaofu who lost out by a head to Smitty Bacall in a 2m 4f maiden at Gowran two weeks ago. Zaofu is entitled to progress from that initial outing over hurdles.

2.35 FOLLOW LIMERICK RACECOURSE ON TWITTER RATED HURDLE 2M

The capable dual-purpose performer St Lawrence Gap makes most appeal as he switches back to hurdles for the first time since chasing home Persistent off a mark of 119 in a Galway handicap last October.

He will relish the ground and he wasn’t at all disgraced on the flat last time when beaten less than 10l into sixth by Sea The Lion in a premier 1m 4f handicap at Cork. He is chosen ahead of the 118-rated Black Key who notched up a deserved maiden success at Listowel last month when accounting for Storm Rising.

3.10 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF HANDICAP HURDLE 3M

Carlitos Bay could make a successful return to hurdling having chased home Irish Bulletin in an extended 3m handicap chase at Wexford last month.

This gelding is 15lbs higher than when winning over hurdles last season but his last effort was encouraging and suggested that he had returned to peak form.

He can deal with the threat posed by About You who won over 3m on good ground at Kilbeggan last month and followed that with a close third to Floramar at Roscommon the following week. Mill Quest didn’t run badly when fourth to Roi De Dubai at Down Royal last time and she might improve for her first outing since April.

3.40 PARTY TIME LTD MARQUEE HIRE CHASE 2M 3F 110YDS

This could witness a return to form by Attribution who has picked up a couple of conditions chases at this track in the past. The course and distance winner in a very useful type on his day and is possibly at his best in small field conditions events such as this. He didn’t run anywhere near his best behind Draycott Place at Listowel last month but expect a much better effort from this 140-rated gelding.

Despite not being all that well treated by the weights he can deal with Neverushacon who won a valuable 2m handicap hurdle at Killarney a couple of months.

The latter has since had two outings on the flat and he needs to bounce back from an unplaced run behind Low Sun at the Curragh last weekend.

4.10 CLIONA HOGAN PLAYS LIVE ON 26TH JULY BEGINNERS CHASE 2M 2F

Classic Theatre can build on a solid chasing debut at Clonmel last month where she was beaten just 2l into fourth by Venezia. That was her first outing since November so she should be able to better than form while her effort there showed that she was able to cope with a sound surface.

She won a bumper and a maiden hurdle and is quite a capable sort at her best. Hugo ‘n Taz holds a rating of 112 over fences and can give her most to do. He showed up well in a couple of beginners’ chases towards the end of last season and when he was last in action he won a maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe at the start of May.

4.45 GALWAY PLATE TRIAL HANDICAP CHASE 2M 6F 50YDS

On his favoured good ground Snugsborough Benny looks capable of adding to his tally over fences. A progressive sort over hurdles last summer when his victories included one at this track, the eight-year-old turned in a nice effort at Down Royal in late May to defeat Oathkeeper by 4l in a rated novice chase.

There is certainly more to come from him over fences and he is open to more improvement than most of his rivals. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if he was given most to do by Top Of The Town who comes here off a couple of solid showings in reasonable handicap hurdles.

Selection: SNUGSBOROUGH BENNY

5.15 IRISH STALLION EBF MARES FLAT RACE 2M 4F

A chance is taken on Presentingprincess. This former winning point-to-pointer produced by far her best effort to date when chasing home Chisholm Trail in a mares maiden hurdle at Gowran last month. The latter is quite a capable sort and if the selection can translate that form back to this discipline she will mount a strong challenge for victory.

She probably has more to fear from Lady Loretto who showed plenty of promise to finish third to Moyhenna in a 2m 2f mares bumper at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve. If she copes with this much quicker ground she will play a major role.

Selection: PRESENTINGPRINCESS
