1.50 Darren’s Way Maiden 7f
Despite having something to find on ratings, Famed Again could be dangerous to overlook at the likely prices if sharp enough on her return from a 242-day layoff. She had some rock-solid showings in defeat last season and won’t be found wanting for experience; her fourth of 16 runners in last year’s valuable Irish EBF Auction Series Race Final at Naas was encouraging. It probably shows that connections think a fair bit of her to run her in a Group 3 on her last start at two when rated only 78.
A reproduction of his best form from last season will make Alfred Tennyson tough to beat, but he has had plenty of chances now and connections reach for blinkers for the first time here. Perhaps he might find things more comfortable over seven furlongs than six, though a 97-day absence since running on the first day of the season could indicate he’s had a hold-up of some description in the interim. Knockmark is his equal on ratings and has been running consistently of late. He’s good enough to win a race of this standard.

Glyndwr was probably given a tough opening mark of 88 on the back of winning his maiden at Dundalk in October and it’s certainly a help to see him be able to drop in grade after coming down to a rating of 83. Ger Lyons’ recent Fairyhouse third also had that last-time-out form franked when the fourth, Kilmood Susan, won on her next start in a maiden at Cork. James Ryan’s 3lb claim is a positive for his chances.
Rion Rubette emerged with credit from her second at the Curragh last time and a 3lb rise for that run is partially offset by the booking of experienced 5lb claimer Wayne Hassett. Wait For It is unexposed and ought to have more to come, while Bishopton, Misappropriation and Just Before bring plenty of experience to the table and have the potential to play a leading role. This is very open.

David Marnane has two interesting runners here, though both are back from a layoff so a check on the market is advised. Dundalk stalwart Amemri is seeking a fifth win on the bounce but Luke McAteer, who has ridden all of the stable’s winners in Ireland this year, has been booked for Aviatrice. The Phoenix Of Spain filly won a maiden in good style at Dundalk when last seen in November and might be on a workable mark of 78, if sharp enough after a break.
Anvika won on this card last year and commands respect after some solid showings lately. The well-bred Mallavelly is 6lb lower than her comeback run at Cork and looks to be in a comfortable grade, while Beautiful Affair needs to show more than last time but is unexposed and represents top connections.
SELECTION: AVIATRICE

Sierra De Gredos got off the mark at Gowran 19 days ago and looks to be in a similarly weak contest here. Andy Oliver’s four-year-old has been getting the hang of things this season and looks to be at his best over a mile. He’s 6lb higher and won under a rider claiming 2lb last year, so his task is tougher now, but he looks one who can be relied upon to run well.
Deuteronomy is seeking a hat-trick and did well to get on top late on at Leopardstown last week. He’s gone up 14lb over the course of his last two wins (7lb higher than last time), and dropping in trip from nine furlongs doesn’t appear an obvious positive based on how he finished out last time. El Bello finished third at Leopardstown on Thursday evening and it will be interesting if he turns out quickly, with his best form giving him decent claims.

It’s a slight concern that good to firm ground was cited as a factor in his Ebor defeat last year but Queenstown sets the standard on ratings here, is a guaranteed stayer and has collected on the back of a break before so holds obvious claims in Limerick’s feature race. His placed efforts behind Kyprios in listed and Group 3 company last season read well in the context of what will be required to win this listed contest.
Lemsairbat posted a career-best effort when second in the Group 3 Munster Oaks only eight days ago and could be on an upward trajectory for Joseph O’Brien. Layfayette needs to build on his last start at Leopardstown but ought to appreciate this step back up in trip.
SELECTION: QUEENSTOWN

A seven-runner maiden for horses who have run at least twice and are rated 70 or less, and the standard looks particularly weak. It never happened for Step To Somewhere from stall 17 in a 17-runner handicap at Fairyhouse last time and a chance is taken on him bouncing back to something like his previous third in a 10-furlong handicap at Navan. His best two runs have come on good ground and he has lots of experience for a maiden like this.
Joseph O’Brien runs two here who have a ratings edge on the selection, however. Denim And Diamonds hasn’t been seen since January so All Told might just be the preferred of that duo. He was only a 9/2 shot last time at Ballinrobe when getting chopped up on the first bend when already behind, and he returned with nasal discharge post race. The trip is a new question mark but this looks a very suitable grade for a horse like him.

After a fine fourth in what looked a competitive Leopardstown handicap last time, the Joseph O’Brien-trained Junkyard Dog could be a dangerous opponent off just 8st 1lb when factoring in Julian Pietropaolo’s 7lb claim. The bottom-weight is only 5lb higher than when winning at Navan three starts ago and the way he finished out last time suggested this trip is on the money for the sole three-year-old in this line-up.
Burren Song has collected prize money on five of his last six flat starts without quite clicking, and a slow start from stall 19 at Navan last time immediately put him on the back foot when ninth. Coming back to this optimum trip looks a good fit for him and he could be capable of having a say should things fall right for him here. Pidoyne hasn’t run on the flat since September 2021 and last appeared over hurdles in August 2024, so has a layoff to overcome but might be well treated off a flat mark of 77. Eighty Eight isn’t ruled out now back up in trip again.
