1.05 FORAN EQUINE IRISH EBF MAIDEN 6F 150YDS

Winiata is taken to build on an encouraging debut at Dundalk last month where she was beaten by 1½l by the promising Major Reward. Her yard’s juveniles progress well with racing and she has a nice draw to help. Her biggest threat is likely to come from I Am Superman whose fifth to Norway at Naas last week didn’t match the form of his debut second to Breaking Story at the Curragh in August. He is better than he got to show at Naas and a better effort should be forthcoming.

He wasn’t at his best last time but Could Be King is worth siding with. His debut third to the smart Inverleigh was encouraging and he ran well for a long way before eventually being beaten just over 3l into fourth by Anthony Van Dyck in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes in August. He has the benefit of a low draw, while his chief rival Wargrave will have to break from the outside. Wargrave finished at the rear in the National Stakes last time but he previously ran well to reach the frame in a Tipperary listed race won by Christmas. Wargrave boasts a rating of 97.

Insignia Of Rank can continue Joe Murphy’s strong finish to the season. This three-year-old belied odds of 33/1 to bolt up in a useful looking 1m1f handicap at Tipperary last week.

He has shot up 12lbs in the weights as a result but the manner of that last success suggests that he may be a horse on the up and he is taken to cope with his revised mark.

He is chosen ahead of Roibeard who won on easy ground at Gowran Park during the summer and turned in a cracking effort to finish fourth to Hamley in a valuable 1m2f handicap at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend.

This looks a good opening for The King to add to his sole previous success which came in a Gowran Park maiden on heavy ground just over a year ago. Since then this son of Mastercraftsman has run some honourable races in defeat, the latest of which saw him finish a good third to Rostropovich in a 1m4f Group 3 at Leopardstown last month. He could see off the classy stayer Twilight Payment who is dropping down in trip following his second in the Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes over 2m at Naas late last month.

Fort Denison could be worth taking a chance on. The top-weight, who is open to more improvement than many of these, was having his first run for over a year when finishing fifth in a Gowran Park handicap over an extended 1m1f last month.

The step-up to this trip will certainly suit him and hopefully he will cope with a wide draw. A Few Bob Short has run a succession of good races in defeat this season and deserves to get his turn. His latest second to Cacique Royale at Naas represents another solid effort.

He deserves to get his turn at this level and One Cool Poet gets the vote. He was unlucky not to strike in a Roscommon handicap several runs back and he also took third in a handicap at Dundalk last month. He was last of five over hurdles at Clonmel last week but wasn’t beaten at all far and he is well worth another chance. He can deal with Shadow Seven who ran with promise on his handicap debut when third to Divine Approach at Navan.

Fuwairt has put together several decent efforts lately and he deservedly got his turn when recording a narrow success over Mr Ormsby at Cork on Wednesday. That run followed narrow defeats at Fairyhouse and Cork and he is worth chancing even though a number of these rivals are rated much higher.

Drombeg Dream is rated 99 but he will need the ground to ease dramatically and perhaps the capable three-year-old Rapture’s Delight will provide Fuwairt with his biggest test.

After winning at Listowel, Time Queen posted a solid effort in defeat to finish fourth to Hasselnott in a Navan handicap last month. She is 8lbs higher than when winning at Listowel but her Navan effort would suggest that she can strike off her revised mark. She is preferred to Cyrus Dalin who was beaten just over 1l into fifth by Time Stands Still at Dundalk having previously won a claimer at Laytown.

SELECTION: TIME QUEEN
