Mailloche is an interesting recruit for Willie Mullins, having finished second on his French hurdle bow to Mustang Du Breuil, who went on to place in a Grade 2 for Nicky Henderson, before being sent off favourite for the Fred Winter.

He’s been off for a year, though, while it’s only a few months since Marco Du Seuil finished second on his first start for Gordon Elliott. The winner of a Grade 3 bumper in his native France, the Galiway gelding is likely to take a step forward today.

Bunker Buster seeks redemption after unseating at the first on his hurdle debut, when he was sent off favourite. Paul Nolan’s point-to-point recruits Slade Harbour and Tiger Island are worth considering on rules debut.

Little to get excited about, so it could be an ideal opportunity for Caoimhe to pout two disappointing runs in bumpers behind her on her first start for Liam Burke. The daughter of Blue Bresil won her sole start between the flags and should prove better over hurdles.

Doyen seven-year-old Big Boy Dan is another expected to improve for a hurdle, having tried and failed to get first run on his rivals when making all in a heavy-ground bumper in April.

Poet’s Duke showed enough promise on his first two starts to be sent off favourite for a similar contest when last seen in May. He had excuses that day and should produce a better effort on return.

With recent runs under their belt, last year’s 1-2, Millstream Lady and World Of Fortunes, have strong chances of producing a repeat, though with today’s weights, three-time listed winner World Of Fortunes looks capable of reversing the placings.

With Majestic Force needing to overcome a long absence, Carried With Love rates the biggest danger. A switch to Jonathan Sweeney and chasing appears to have revived the lightly-raced five-year-old, who had decent form over hurdles, chasing home the progressive Cousin Kate here at Christmas.

When Dallas Star won on hurdle debut, his nearest rival was seeking a first hurdle win in 11 starts, but the form received a boost when the third won next time out. You could pick holes in Emerald Enigma’s form too, particularly when a beaten favourite on her penultimate start.

Better value may be found away from the Mullins family’s pair, namely with Tinto De Verano, who finished an eye-catching third to a smart horse at the Punchestown Festival and followed up with a six-length success next time out.

The six-year-old may improve further after a summer break, while the hat-trick seeking Luck Between Us needs a career-best as he steps up in class.

Glin Road Boy’s recent well-supported win didn’t go unpunished last month, with Charles Byrnes’ charge receiving a 13lb rise.

While the second and third have since won, he remains a riskier prospect than Build A Bridge, who justified strong support on his first start for Rory Devine on Tuesday. Connections have opted for a quick turnaround as he’s 2lb well-in under a 7lb penalty.

Lenjoleur De Palma finished second in a listed handicap hurdle at Christmas, and with a recent pipe-opener under his belt, holds a strong chance today.

Difficult to be overly confident about any, given the inconsistency of those with promising runs of late. At The Wings is one of few exceptions as he seeks a hat-trick, and while he has to defy another 6lb rise, this still looks a winnable race.

Course-and-distance winner Dalmatic should improve from last month’s seasonal return, with Island McCoo the most appealing of the remainder.

How At The Wings fares in the previous race will inform Tudorista’s chances, as she was only a neck behind her at Gowran last time, for which she received 3lb.

Successful at the end of last season, Loi Des Jeux returned last month to finish a respectable second over an insufficient trip and is capable of further progression as she steps up in trip.

The more experienced Ladiam gained his third win last time out and while he went up 6lb for that performance, he’s run well off a similar mark.

Dinner Dance showed a good attitude when runner-up in a point-to-point flat race but that and her point win lack substance.

The same could be said of All Noise’s winning debut at Tattersalls in April, but the performance and her pedigree – she’s a half-sister to Grade 2-winning hurdler White Noise – earned her a six-figure price tag.

The booking of Patrick Mullins is another plus, as is Finian Maguire for Linger On, a half-sister to a listed-winning hurdler. Fellow Crystal Ocean mare Dreamer Of Dreams is also worth a look on debut.
