The clear pick of those with form in the book is the Dermot Weld-trained Maneen. The son of Paco Boy made an encouraging debut at Navan in October when second to Dinozzo, shaping as though he would very much improve from the experience. Dermot Weld has found a good opportunity for him to make it second-time lucky on his return to action and it will be a surprise if he doesn’t go close. The only newcomer is the race is a very interesting one in the shape of the Aidan O’Brien-trained Monarch. The three-year-old is a full-brother to the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Roderic O’Connor and market support for him would be significant.

Dermot Weld looks to again hold the key to this contest with Creme De La. The daughter of English Channel has shaped with promise in both her starts to date, most notably when second to the subsequent Group 3 winner Jet Setting in a maiden at Cork last month. While it is a concern that she refused to load when odds-on for a maiden at Navan last weekend, if there are no such mishaps this time around, she should prove difficult to beat. The main danger to her is the Aidan O’Brien-trained Californiadreaming, with the daughter of Fastnet Rock having earned an official rating of 90 is her four starts to date.

A competitive maiden and marginal preference is given to the Dermot Weld-trained Shinghari. The son of Cape Cross is far less exposed than most of his rivals and there was plenty of encouragement in his debut effort at Navan just under a year ago. While he has presumably had his problems since then, his trainer remains in fine form and market support for him on his return to action would be encouraging. Of the more exposed runners, the Patrick Prendergast-trained Blue Skimmer will have no problem with the trip or ground and seems sure to run a solid race.

Competitive fare and the Willie McCreery-trained Expreso Brasileiro looks to be the one. The four-year-old progressed nicely in the second half of last season and made a highly-encouraging return at the Curragh last time, meeting with trouble in running prior to finishing third to Mr Right. This longer trip should be fine for him and he is likely to take all the beating. Of his opposition, the Jim Bolger-trained Vintage Charm looks to be the pick.

4:15 188BET MARTIN MOLONY STAKES (LISTED RACE) 1M 4F 110YDS

A solid renewal of this contest and a star to focus on in the shape of the Aidan O’Brien-trained Bondi Beach. The four-year-old was unquestionably one of the unluckiest horses at stakes level last year, being unlucky not to win both the Great Voltigeur and the St Leger. He rates as a high-class staying prospect this year and while he has to give weight away to all of his rivals, he will be very tough to beat. Of those with race fitness, the John Kiely-trained Toe The Line looks to have solid prospects.

A tricky handicap with plenty of unexposed sorts and the one that makes the most appeal is the Paul Deegan-trained Tasty Ginger. The son of Tamayuz seemed suit by the step up to a mile-and-a-quarter at Leopardstown last time and this even longer trip should certainly help his case. Another one that is open to improvement over the longer trip is the Johnny Murtagh-trained Full Court Press.

Another competitive handicap and a chance is taken on the Charles Byrnes-trained Red House Hill. The six-year-old has shaped well on a number of occasions, most notably when third in a handicap over this course and distance last time. Conditions will suit and a more positive ride would likely see him get involved in the finish. Of his opposition, the Liz Doyle-trained Cest Notre Gris is worth considering on her return to the level.
