12.40 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Paddy And Maureen Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle

The hat-trick seeking mare Cousin Kate holds leading claims for the Denis Hogan stable. A well-bred daughter of Maxios, the five-year-old disappointed on her first two starts but has been a model of consistency in subsequent outings. Having scored twice over two and a half miles, her stamina will be a valuable asset on this ground.

Having caught the eye when fifth over a shorter trip here recently, True Testimony should be suited to an additional two furlongs. Rated 16lb higher over fences, the Ian Donoghue-trained mare looks nicely treated in this discipline.

December Gold Cup fourth Kim Roque can land this on his third start for Joseph O’Brien. A three-time scorer in his native France, the gelding finished runner-up on his stable debut at Cheltenham in November. Making his first start in this country, the six-year-old appears to hold leading claims in this ultra competitive handicap chase.

Well supported before ultimately finishing sixth in the Paddy Power, Buachaillbocht has to be respected. A three-time winner over flights, the Ted Walsh-trained gelding has won over further than this trip, so should be a horse that comes into his own on this stamina sapping ground.

It will be interesting to see if punters come for him again.

Golf Launching Spring 2026 Handicap Hurdle (Listed) 2m

Former Cheltenham bumper winner A Dream To Share can register a first victory over hurdles. Lightly over the last two years, the John and Thomas Kiely-trained gelding shaped with promise on the flat during the summer, before getting off the mark at this track in June.

Having subsequently shown promise on three starts since reverting to jumping, he could prove well handicapped.

Given the excellent record of trainer Charles Byrnes in this race, I Started A Joke has to be given serious consideration. Lightly raced over hurdles, the eight-year-old ran well in what looked an above average maiden hurdle at Limerick on his penultimate start, before winning very easily at Punchestown on his latest appearance.

Goffs Defender Bumper winner Wonderful Everyday proved disappointing on her next start at Huntingdon but is readily forgiven that below par effort. Sent off a short priced favourite, the Willie Mullins-trained mare beat only one home.

On the form of her debut success, the five-year-old mare has to be one of the leading candidates.

Brosna Shine, who finished behind Wonderful Everyday on debut, improved on her debut effort when winning at Fairyhouse in December. A daughter of No Risk At All, she is out of a dual bumper winner.
