1.55 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF AUCTION MAIDEN 6F
Lundy made a bright start to his career when second to Caravaggio in a 5f maiden at Dundalk last month. On that occasion the Fastnet Rock colt was beaten 1¾l into second and shaped as though he would be all the better for that run. The step up to 6f will suit him well and the form of that initial run is looking solid with several of those that finished down the field having subsequently run well. He is undoubtedly the one to beat.
Medicine Jack comes from a yard whose juveniles are going nicely. This Equiano colt is a half-brother to a host of winners including the listed scorer Agony And Ecstacy.
Dapper Man is a Dandy Man colt out of a capable mare and has a decent draw to aid his cause.
Selection: LUNDY

2.25 AMETHYST STAKES (GROUP 3) 1M
He does have to contend with a Group 2 penalty for his course and distance triumph last September but Custom Cut could still be the one to side with. The reliable seven-year-old is a high-class miler at his best and improved from his comeback run at Doncaster to finish a creditable fourth in a decent edition of the Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket. He could yet progress again and he is chosen to overcome Cougar Mountain who won a Group 3 over this course and distance last August. The Ballydoyle colt struggled in the Gladness Stakes on his reappearance but will do much better on this ground and should play a leading role.
Queen Catrine is another who could leave the form of her soft ground comeback a long way behind.
Selection: CUSTOM CUT
Next best: Cougar Mountain
3.00 DERRINSTOWN STUD 1000 GUINEAS TRIAL (GROUP 3) 1M
Radiantly is a hopeful choice. She finished over 5l behind Now Or Never when fourth in a Group 3 at this track last month but the step up to a mile will work in her favour and the drying ground can help her step forward markedly. She has already run well at this level having been beaten 1l into fourth by Coolmore in a 7f contest at the Curragh last September.
Now Or Never sets the standard on recent form having run very well to finish a 3l second to Jet Setting in that aforementioned Guineas Trial here last month. A look at her first two runs last season would indicate that the ground will hold no fears for her.
A fascinating runner is Misty Millie who won her maiden by a staggering 14l at Navan last month. The first time blinkered Emergent could appreciate switching back to this trip.
Selection: RADIANTLY

Idaho showed a lot of promise on his reappearance in last month’s Ballysax Stakes where he was beaten 1¼l into second by Harzand. There was a lot to like about the manner in which he quickened up to get into contention in the straight and, tellingly, he did finish almost 8l clear of the remainder. He is the one to beat.
Moonlight Magic was a long way below his best in the Ballysax where he finished a well held fifth. This was not a true reflection of his abilities as he looked a cracking middle-distance prospect when winning both his starts late last season. The promise he showed then would suggest that he could be a formidable foe for Idaho.
Ventura Storm is a reliable sort who won a 1m 1f listed race at Newmarket last month. He is unlikey to be far away.
Tirmizi is another to keep in mind as his debut win here last autumn marked him out as a nice type.
Selection: IDAHO
Next best: Moonlight Magic
4.10 JOHN R FITZPATRICK AGRICULTURAL CONTRACTOR HANDICAP 7F
A hopeful vote goes to Mzuri who didn’t produce anything like her best at Gowran Park last time. Her previous runs bear close inspection though and suggest that a race like this is within her capabilities. A second to Jamesie at Dundalk at the start of the season was a fine run while her third to Cape Wolfe and Lily’s Rainbow in 1m handicap at this track last summer is another good effort.
Wexford Opera comes here off an honourable second to Creggs Pipes at the Curragh on Monday. He should be thereabouts while Tribal Path warrants the utmost respect. The latter is bidding for a four-timer and has gone up 17lb in the weights for his latest winning spree. St Brelades Bay and Ishebayorgrey are others that make appeal.
Selection: MZURI

Xebec could bounce back to form. This likeable gelding was a thoroughly consistent type last year and his last two unplaced runs shouldn’t be held against him, particularly as he made his comeback run on dire ground at Cork over Easter. He is 1lb lower than when last successful, the ground looks perfect for him and he twice reached the frame in premier handicaps over this trip last season. All that points to a strong showing.
Time For Mabel ran well in a decent Dundalk handicap a month ago where he was beaten over 4l into fourth. He shaped up better than the bare result there and has the capacity to mount a strong challenge.
Selection: XEBEC

5.10 BULMERS LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN FESTIVAL MAIDEN 1M 2F
On his three outings last season Cole Porter was a beaten favourite but he looks to have a good chance of getting his campaign off to a successful start. The 87-rated son of Galileo has shown that a maiden success is well within reach as evidenced by efforts such as a head second to Ebediyin in a Galway maiden last September. Mounira is an interesting newcomer as she holds Group 3 and classic entries in the coming months. This daughter of Raven’s Pass is a half-sister to a number of quality middle distance runners. Radar O’Reilly’s fine comeback second to Ezanak at Gowran puts him into contention while Sea Of Mystery warrants close attention after finishing last season with a second to Cook Islands at Navan.
Selection: COLE PORTER
Next best: Mounira
