1.10 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Paddy Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle (Grade B) 2m 2f

A hopeful vote goes to Global Equity who has previously been placed at Grade 3 level over hurdles and her efforts this season include honourable runner-up efforts to the likes of Gauloise and Roseys Hollow in maiden hurdles.

She has first-time cheekpieces to aid her cause and she is preferred to Telmesomethinggirl who returns off a 140-day absence. Her most recent Listowel success over Darrens Hope reads well in light of the latter’s exploits, while her Galway third to The Very Man ties in closely with Getaway Gorgeous who appeals as a likely contender.

Dysart Diamond produced a very nice effort to win here at Christmas and must have every chance, whereas Daylight Katie could be interesting despite having top-weight and she has run just once the last 15 months.

SELECTION: GLOBAL EQUITY

Next Best: Telmesomethinggirl

2.40 William Fry Handicap Hurdle (0-150) (Grade B) 3m

Unexpected Depth can mount a strong challenge for victory. He returned from 14 months off to make it three wins from his last four starts at Punchestown in December and did better again in a Pertemps Qualifier here at Christmas when he finished a superb third to a pair of well treated rivals in Dandy Mag and The Bosses Oscar.

He could well progress further with this test looking absolutely ideal and he can see off Damalisque. The latter absolutely bolted up in a useful 2m 4f Navan handicap hurdle last week and a 12lb penalty is unlikely to keep him out of the frame.

Pure Genius is very interesting after impressing in a maiden hurdle last time, while Ballyshannon Rose cannot be underestimated in her bid to bring up a five-timer.

4.10 Gaelic Plant Hire Leopardstown Handicap Chase (Grade A) 2m 5f

A fascinating and hugely competitive handicap where a chance is taken on Braeside. He is still a maiden over fences and has in the past looked as though he wants farther than this trip.

However, he has posted a couple of decent efforts over similar distance this season such as when third to Pencilfulloflead and Coko Beach at Galway and when chasing home Fils d’Oudairies at Navan in December. A light weight coupled with his rider’s 7lb claim make him a formidable contender.

Treacysenniscorthy won the 3m handicap hurdle on this card last year and got his season on track with a likeable success in a 2m 4f handicap chase at Cork last month. He will be hard to keep out of the frame.

Minella Times and Farclas, who were second and third in the Paddy Power Chase at Christmas, both appeal as leading contenders.

SELECTION: BRAESIDE

Next Best: Treacysenniscorthy

4.40 Coolmore N.H. Sires Kew Gardens Irish EBF Mares I.N.H. Flat Race (Grade 2) 2m

Brandy Love looks as though she could take beating. Her trainer fields a selection of very promising mares and it is interesting that Patrick Mullins has opted for her.

This daughter of Jet Away looked good in winning her point-to-point this time last year and created big impression when bolting up in a Fairyhouse bumper on her debut a couple of months ago.

She is chosen ahead of stablemate Take Tea who was an impressive winner of a Naas bumper in December when she handed out an 11l beating to the subsequent winner Feddans. She too looks a major talent.

Hollymount also impressed on her debut in a Carlisle bumper and has recently changed stables. A good showing from her wouldn’t come as any surprise.

SELECTION: BRANDY LOVE

Next Best: Take Tea
