1.55 Leopardstown Fillies Maiden 1m

Lady Anner is a speculative choice to maintain Jessica Harrington’s tremendous start to the season. The apparent first string of her trainer’s two runners makes notable appeal on pedigree as an own-sister to her owner’s Italian Group 1 heroine Laganore.

Satin And Silk also commands maximum respect. The daughter of Galileo, who is fitted with blinkers, is a half-sister to several smart American runners headed by the 2015 Florida Derby victor Materiality.

Eldama is another that takes the eye on pedigree as she is a Siyouni half-sister to several capable types including her trainer’s Group 3-winning middle-distance filly Edelmira. Amiko Chow warrants respect as a representative for Ger Lyons. This daughter of Lope De Vega and hails from the family of Skitter Scatter and Soldier Of Fortune.

This could see Napa Valley get his career off to a winning start in a race confined to newcomers. This son of Galileo is one of two runners for his trainer and is yet another exceedingly well-bred sort as a half-brother to the brilliant sprinting two-year-old Tiggy Wiggy.

Mostallim is interesting as he is the first produce of a winning Sea The Stars mare whose dam is an own-sister to the top-class two-year-old Holy Roman Emperor. Ramesses The Great, a stablemate of Napa Valley, must be given a mention as a Pioneerof The Nile half-brother to last year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Vino Rosso.

SELECTION: NAPA VALLEY

Twilight Payment might be able to repeat last year’s success. Subsequently a winner of the Group 2 Curragh Cup last season, he has the advantage of a relatively recent run having performed respectably in Saudi Arabia in late February when he was trapped wide throughout. He is a reliable sort at this level and he might have the measure of Trossachs who was a highly progressive handicapper last season.

The latter ended his season with a close third in a high-class handicap over an extended 1m 4f and if he can sustain his progress he should make up into a stakes-class stayer this term.

Falcon Eight was a strong-finishing second in this race last year and should be more than capable of adding to his stakes race haul this term. He too commands the utmost respect.

SELECTION: TWILIGHT PAYMENT

Next best: Trossachs

3.35 Holden Plant Rental Handicap (45-65) 1m 4f

She hasn’t won on the flat for some time and comes into this off a series of runs over fences, but Misty Millie should be able to play a part in the finish despite having a wide draw to contend with. Her chasing runs have been relatively recent so she shouldn’t be at a disadvantage in terms of fitness, and she ran well off slightly higher marks than her current one through the first half of 2019 flat season. Any easing in the ground will aid her cause.

Aasleagh Fawn could run well. She accounted for a useful sort in Eight And Bob at Bellewstown last summer and she also won over 1m 6f at Navan in the autumn. She makes plenty of appeal despite not having run yet this year.

SELECTION: MISTY MILLIE

Next best: Aasleagh Fawn

4.10 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Noblesse Stakes (Listed) 1m 4f

Loveisthehigherlaw can make a winning start to her season. She showed a good level of form in three runs last term when she defeated Camphor in a Cork maiden before accounting for the talented Blenheim Palace at Killarney and then ended the season with a decent fourth in a Naas listed race. There should be more to come from her this term and she gets the nod over her old rival Camphor.

The latter ended 2019 with a second in the Oyster Stakes at Galway before finishing just ahead of Loveisthehigherlaw in that Naas stakes race that was won by Solage. Heliac has something to find on official ratings but she progressed very nicely last season and signed off with a victory in quite a decent Dundalk handicap. Her efforts last term suggested that she would progress further when moved up to this trip.

SELECTION: LOVEISTHEHIGHERLAW

Next best: Camphor

4.45 Leopardstown Handicap 1m 2f

Moll looks a leading player on her first start for new connections. She showed plenty of promise on her second and third outings before then stepping up to win a 1m Dundalk maiden early this year.

This looks a tougher assignment, but when she won at Dundalk she accounted for four subsequent maiden winners and she has the potential to progress further over this longer trip. She also boasts some big race entries.

Springbank was unable to build on his highly encouraging debut, at the Curragh last August, in two subsequent runs. However, he remains a horse of potential and has a reasonable draw. He doesn’t look badly treated on the basis of that first run where he was beaten just under 2l into third by Wichita and Fiscal Rules.

Holy Roman Empress progressed with each run last season and her 3l fourth to Amma Grace in a maiden at this track last autumn puts her into the reckoning.

SELECTION: MOLL

5.15 Leopardstown Handicap (45-70) 1m

Miracles In May is a dependable type and he might be able to notch up his second victory of the year despite being drawn wide. He won a handicap at the first meeting of the year at Dundalk and that form looks very solid with the runner-up, Adnap, going on to win subsequently on the Polytrack. He found Nordic Passage too good the following week but the latter has since put that form in a positive light too.

Athlumney Hall is also poorly drawn but could be dangerous if he returns to the form of his second to Make Me Sway at the Curragh last September. After just six outings, he is still open to progress.

SELECTION: MIRACLES IN MAY

Next best: Athlumney Hall

5.45 Leopardstown Handicap (50-80) 7f

Confidence High was an impressive winner over this course and distance earlier in the week. He ran out an easy 3¼l winner over David Garrick on that occasion and could take beating under a 6lbs mandatory penalty which still leaves him 9lbs well in relative to his revised mark.

A good run from Madakat Mystery would not surprise. She reached the frame on all three of her outings last season and finished the year with a creditable third to Elusive King in a 6f maiden at Naas. She has shown enough to suggest that she can win races as a three-year-old.

Daoub could be a contender if he can return to the form that saw him finish a close sixth to Armory in a Curragh maiden last summer. Kokura and the Madrid Handicap sixth Wild Cherry could also make their presence felt.

SELECTION: CONFIDENCE HIGH

Next best: Madakat Mystery
