1:20 Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden 7f

Eylara could be difficult to beat in this fillies maiden. The daughter of Gleneagles put up a nice effort on her debut, finishing second at Gowran Park, in among a group of fillies who had plenty of experience on the track. With any improvement, she’ll be very difficult to beat.

Aidan O’Brien’s two-year-olds are in good form now so Glinting deserves a second look. Jo March is also an interesting proposition, a Joseph O’Brien-trained daughter of Zoffany who runs in the colours of J.P. McManus on her debut.

SELECTION: EYLARA

This looks a nice opportunity for Sword Zorro to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. Jessica Harrington’s Zoffany colt has finished second on each of his previous three runs, notably chasing home subsequent Group 1 runner-up Wembley at Roscommon on his penultimate start. He faces only five rivals today and looks like a solid proposition.

Horoscope, a No Nay Never colt, can give him most to do. He ran with promise in a Curragh maiden just under two weeks ago when staying on from the rear to finish fourth to stablemate Khartoum.

2:29 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Nursery 7f

Amber Kite could be tough to beat. A winner at Gowran Park earlier in the season, Ger Lyons’s filly has performed with credit since, chasing home the useful Magnanimous at Cork before running seventh in the Foran Equine series final at Naas last week. She was a little unlucky at the latter, as she got squeezed out at a vital time, before making late gains. She shaped better than the bare result and this looks a softer contest.

Tullypole Annie won last time out so deserves respect but she has been raised and has to prove herself in these sort of conditions. Bondi Dreams could be a different proposition now moved to nursery company. She has had three runs, running okay the last two times and is open to further improvement now.

Leopardstown Handicap 7f

Reverberation has been progressive since March and showed he could still be on an upward curve when a close second to Angel Palanas over this course and distance last time out. That was his first run in 77 days so he could improve now and he clearly enjoys this course as he won over a mile here in July.

Strange Times is interesting on her handicap debut, while Day Dreamin was another course winner last time out and has scope to improve further now. However, the second vote goes to Madaket Mystery, who ran well over this course and distance when fourth in a maiden. That moved her back to a rating of 72, a mark she performed well off earlier in the summer and today she sports a first-time visor which could help further.

SELECTION: REVERBERATION

Next best: Madaket Mystery

3:39 Eyrefield Stakes (Group 3) 1m 1f

Reve De Vol sets the standard for this Group 3 and could be tough to beat. Ger Lyons’s colt has run with credit on his last two starts, first when third in the Champions Juvenile Stakes at this track and then when fifth in the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh. The step up in trip could help him and the soft ground shouldn’t be a problem given his dam won on a similar surface.

Wuqood is a dangerous rival. He finished two places behind Reve De Vol in the Beresford but that was just his second start and he showed up quite well despite running keenly earlier in the race. His maiden win is decent form and he could produce better today. Carlisle Bay is another worth respect given he is a first-time-out Ballydoyle winner courtesy of his win at Tipperary.

SELECTION: REVE DU VOL

Next best: Wuqood

4:14 Trigo Stakes (Listed) 1m 2f

Helvic Dream will have a lot of supporters after his runaway win the International Stakes last time but he has a Group 3 penalty to shoulder.

Amma Grace could take advantage. Over the same distance at the Curragh she ran a huge race when second to the very useful Cayenne Pepper in the Blandford Stakes. She has improved with each run and soft ground isn’t a problem considering her maiden win came at this course on soft ground.

Numerian is a solid performer who should give his running again. He is just a little exposed against some of these now. Raise You was a useful performer when trained by Andrew Balding when he notably finished third to Addeybb in the Group 3 Rose of Lancaster on heavy going. He hasn’t shown much on two starts for Joseph O’Brien but has the scope to do better.

SELECTION: AMMA GRACE

Next best: Helvic Dream

4:49 Leopardstown Members Club Handicap 1m 2f

Melburnian was a little disappointing in the October Handicap last week but he remains a threat over this course and distance on the basis of his impressive win in that race last season. That said, he faces a couple of nicely primed rivals today, including Gavin Cromwell’s Yafordadoe.

He has been in good form over hurdles earlier this summer, winning twice including at Bellewstown by 12 lengths. He made his return on the flat at Naas two weeks ago and ran creditably in a 10-furlong handicap won by the well-fancied Dance Jupiter. The step up to a mile and a half could well suit this four-year-old and he is taken to gain another win.

Sharp Focus is another worth noting. He won at Killarney for John Murphy in July and is now having his third start for Elliott, having run promisingly back at the Kerry track last time.

SELECTION: YAFORDADOE

Next best: Melburnian
