1:30 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden 1m

Although Kerkiyra has had three goes already, she has very strong maiden form and she could put her experience to good use. She ran well on her first two starts, notably finishing fourth to Moyglare winner Discoveries on her debut, and she found only Limit Di Greccio too good over seven furlongs here on her most recent start, and that filly has upgraded the form of that race substantially since. Off a mini break and coming up an extra furlong, this daughter of Siyouni looks the one to be on.

There are plenty of dangers, not least Cork second and third Thoughts Of June and Red Azalea. The former is taken to confirm the form. She looked well held two furlongs out but battled back to see out the trip really well and she’s drawn better than her re-opposing rival today.

SELECTION: KERKIYRA

Next best: Thoughts Of June

It might be worth taking a chance on Ninja for Seamie Heffernan and Aidan O’Brien. This Galileo half-brother to Tiggy Wiggy ran with promise on his debut at Navan earlier this month, staying on towards the end of a one-mile maiden when eighth at Navan. Out again quickly, he should feel the benefit of that experience and may well enjoy today’s better ground, while he also has a nice draw in stall six.

Aidan O’Brien’s other two runners, Downing Street and Realism – both debutants – are respected, but Good Heavens is given the second vote. Second on each of his previous two starts, he has the form and experience to run well again and should be thereabouts.

SELECTION: NINJA

Next best: Good Heavens

2:40 Hazel Avenue Nursery Handicap 1m

Inchiquin Star is taken to get off the mark. David Marnane’s filly was gradually improving in her first four races but made a significant leap forward on her most recent run in an 18-runner Naas nursery. She ran on very well to finish second there and if she can back that run up with another step forward today, she will go close.

There isn’t much between Supagirl and Sir Allen on their Listowel meeting, just three-quarters of a length separated them then when sixth to French Claim. However, Sir Allen had to overcome a slow start and is 5lbs better off at the weights today so may well reverse the placings.

SELECTION: INCHIQUIN STAR

Next best: Sir Allen

3:15 Richmond Homes Killavullan Stakes (Group 3) 7f

Two pieces of Group 1 form stick out here, that of Glounthaune and Homeless Songs. Glounthaune finished sixth in the Dewhurst, well held but not at all disgraced, especially when you consider he was running off a 175-day break. He’s got quite a similar profile to the winner of this race last year, Poetic Flare, and his maiden win back in April worked out very well through the subsequent efforts of runner-up Castle Star.

Homeless Songs has smart maiden form as well having beaten subsequent Debutante winner Agartha over this course and distance on her debut. She had that form reversed in the Moyglare but still ran nicely on just her second start to finish fifth. She is a big player back in this Group 3 level.

The other to note is impressive Curragh debutant New Energy for Sheila Lavery. He always travelled well during that win, taking advantage of barrier trial experience and may well improve.

SELECTION: GLOUNTHAUNE

Next best: Homeless Songs

Leo De Fury might be worth chancing after getting his head back in front at Dundalk recently. His first two runs this season were disappointing but he showed signs of returning to his best form when fifth to Camorra in the Paddy Power Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend. He won comfortably at Dundalk and if he is back to his best now, he’ll be tough to beat.

Georgeville has been running well at this track all season and did so again when coming home fast in the Boomerang Mile on Irish Champions Weekend. With that in mind, coming up to this trip should suit and he looks sure to run well again.

Of the three-year-olds, Wuqood is interesting. Dermot Weld’s Dubawi colt, out of his Oaks runner-up Tarfasha, hasn’t been seen since finishing seventh of eighth here in the Ballysax. He has some decent form as a two-year-old, having been just touched off in the Eyrefield Stakes at this track.

SELECTION: LEO DE FURY

Next best: Georgeville

4:20 Leopardstown Members Club Maiden 1m 2f

The bottom two on the card are most interesting, Zurkhana and Valle De La Luna, particularly the latter, Jessica Harrington’s filly. She is by Galileo and out of the Matron winner Fiesolana which makes her a full sister to Willie McCreery’s useful Up Helly Aa. She may have had a few problems, but such a pedigree entitles her to respect.

With that said, Joseph O’Brien’s Zaynudin sets a decent standard with his rating of 80. His third at Bellewstown last time was a little disappointing but he was coming off an 83-day break and his earlier form, particularly finishing just in behind Sir Lamorak reads very well. He can put his experience and fitness to good use.

SELECTION: ZAYNUDIN

Next best: Valle De La Luna

4:55 Carmanhall Handicap 1m 4f

It might be worth taking a chance on Star Image coming up to this trip for the first time. A daughter of Sea The Stars, she was a little disappointing on her previous run at Killarney but the soft ground may not have suited her. Prior to that she finished a good staying-on second to My Holy Fox at Punchestown over nine furlongs. Unexposed over this trip, she could go well for Thomas Mullins who has sent out three winners in the last two weeks and has a very good record on the flat at Leopardstown.

Lunar Power should be thereabouts again after finishing second on his last four starts, gradually edging up the handicap in the process. He is consistent and perhaps the slight drop back to this trip will suit him, especially coming off a decent pace.

SELECTION: STAR IMAGE

Next best: Lunar Power

5:25 Leopardstown October Handicap 1m 4f

Khezaana could be the answer to this tricky heat. A recruit from the Mark Johnston stable, this daughter of Muhaarar improved from her Irish debut run for Donal Kinsella to win comfortably at the Curragh, form which has been franked by the runner-up Moon Daisy since. She went up 7lbs for that win, which could well be a lenient assessment, and with just seven runs on the board, she has the scope to kick on again.

Listowel winner Rebellito is much respected for the Willie Mullins yard and gives the impression there is a bit more to come but Citronnade looks more dangerous. She won both her two first starts this season before finishing a respectable seventh in a Deauville Group 3 in August. Freshened up, she may well arrive back here an improved filly again, and will have a big shout if so.

SELECTION: KHEZAANA

Next best: Citronnade
