TOKYO Racecourse hosts its third Group 1 race in as many weeks tomorrow and sees the 81st running of the fillies’ classic the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) over a mile and a half, the second race in the Fillies’ Triple Crown.

The field of 18 includes eight by Deep Impact and one of the likely favourites in Des Ailes. The race has been won by the favourite for the last four years in a row.

Daring Tact, a daughter of Epiphaneia, is unbeaten and stretches out from a mile of the Oka Sho (1000 Guineas).

The filly’s impressive win of the Elfin Stakes prompted trainer Haruki Sugiyama to take Daring Tact to the Oka Sho where she was a decisive winner and bids to become only the second filly, the first since Miss Onward in 1957, to remain unbeaten after two legs of the Triple Crown.

Six of those who directly followed her home in the Oka Sho line up again but the danger is Des Ailes, a Deep Impact filly who made a late debut in mid-March. She missed the Oka Sho but arrives at the Yushun Himba following her win in the Sweetpea Stakes earlier this month.

Des Ailes is out of the French-bred mare Avenir Certain, who captured both the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas) and Prix de Diane (French Oaks).

Win Marilyn, a daughter of Screen Hero, looks to be the best chance of the runners for trainer Takahisa Tezuka after she notched her third win in a four-start career last time. Smile Kana, (third), Cravache d’Or (fourth) Miyamazakura, (fifth) and Sanctuaire (sixth) in the Oka Sho could all fare better on the better ground tomorrow

The Yasutoshi Ikee-trained Ablaze debuted in February, comes off a win of the Grade 3 Flower Cup at Nakayama and is said to have improved.
