The following horses, noted by our reporters on their latest starts, hold these engagements over the next six days:
NEW DIRECTION (IRE)
Declared to run at Gowran Park today
Noted at Cork March 26th: Running from a lowly rating but showed enough on his return to action to suggest he will win handicaps over a trip slightly further than today’s mile.
GALLANT OSCAR (IRE)
Declared to run at Aintree today
Noted at Naas March 6th: This 10-year-old ran quite a nice race off top weight when finishing fifth in the Leinster National. He could race well in some decent staying handicaps this season
HOME FARM (IRE)
Declared to run at Aintree today
Noted at Leopardstown February 28th: On his first run since November, this Grand National hopeful shaped up quite nicely in the conditions hurdle, sixth to Great Field over an inadequate two and a quarter miles. On decent ground at Liverpool he could run well.
IDAHO (IRE)
Declared to run at Leopardstown tomorrow
Noted at the Curragh October 13th: He looks a smart middle-distance prospect and can improve again next time out.
BEAU SATCHEL (GB)
Declared to run at Leopardstown tomorrow
Noted at Dundalk March 23rd: On his first run since finishing third in a premier handicap at the Galway Festival, he was a respectable fifth behind Strait Of Zanzibar. There will be better to come from him when he gets back on turf.
LITTLE STEVIE (GB)
Entered at Tramore on Monday
Noted at Cork March 27th: Looked set to turn the tables on his Limerick rival Noble Vision in the four-year-old hurdle, but for coming a cropper at the second last on only his second outing. He will make amends.
SHANGHAI BEAUTY (IRE)
Entered at Tipperary on Tuesday
Noted at Cork March 28th: Might well have finished closer to the five furlong handicap winner, had she got a clear run with less than a quarter of a mile to travel. She came home well and should be winning soon.
BENDANELLA (IRE)
Entered at Limerick on Thursday
Noted at Cork November 7th: He gave a good account of himself under top-weight in the two-mile handicap on his first outing since March and will strip fitter next time.
RECENT WINNER
Claudio Monteverdi won at Leopardstown (4/5 favourite); Ineffable won at Leopardstown (7/2).
