1.20 William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle 2m 60yd

Combs is the pick, having split a favourite and subsequent winner on his jumping debut five weeks ago, his first start since winning a flat maiden in late April.

He is entitled to improve and could now have the edge over Whats New, a faller on his first start over hurdles but much better when second at Listowel. The lightly-raced Bibe Mus is an interesting recruit to the jumping game.

SELECTION: COMBS

Jackmoon showed promise in bumpers and is taken to go well on hurdle debut. A moderate third to a couple of decent sorts on his most recent start on Easter Monday - his first in almost a year - he is better judged on earlier performances when not far behind the likes of My Trump Card, Romeo Coolio and Sommesky. .

Pas Peur De Toi has the advantage of a recent run over hurdles but was soundly beaten on his first racecourse outing two weeks ago. He’s sure to get much closer this time.

Wild Mandate ran his best race for some time when runner-up to a subsequent winner at Sligo over an extended two miles and one furlong last month. He was having his first start in a handicap hurdle that day and shaped as if this longer trip would suit. He had a couple of lengths to spare over the third-placed Tea It Is which reopposes on 3lb better terms and definitely rates as a danger, along with Stonecarthy, who also found better form when tried in a handicap hurdle for the first time.

SELECTION: WILD MANDATE

Corkbeg is as consistent a performer at this level as there is. Although a little below par over a longer trip at Listowel, earlier efforts read very well, particularly his run over this distance when runner-up to Swelltime in July. Thats All is the most recent winner in the line up and ran well again on her next start. Another Girl is less exposed and goes up in distance for her second start in a handicap hurdle while Lightning Legs has her first run in a handicap hurdle.

SELECTION: CORKBEG

Arctic Gale can record his first win over hurdles to add to a bumper success and a more recent victory over fences. On the back of his chase win, he was sent off a very well-supported favourite for a handicap hurdle on Galway Plate day and ran well to take third behind Bal Kauto, a winner again since. He wasn’t so good when tried again four days later but ran a far better race at Galway last month. He’s just preferred to Cinammon Roll who showed up nicely, after not getting the clearest of runs, when second at Listowel.

SELECTION: ARCTIC GALE

Blood Destiny is a most consistent performer at this level and can defy his penalty to score. He enjoyed a recent winning turn when a long odds-on favourite in June and ran with plenty of credit when second at the Galway Festival.

He drops back a couple of furlongs and just might be a match over this distance for Western Fold, wwho backed up his cosy success in the Mayo National in May with a taking win under close to top-weight in the Galway Plate.

SELECTION: BLOOD DESTINY

Boston Rover may extend his winning run over fences to three as he goes into handicap company. He turned a corner over fences, catching the eye on chasing debut before turning out to win races in June and August. The ground is very different now, but he’s definitely on the up and can score at the main expense of Prince Palace, who relished testing conditions when running well in February and March.

SELECTION: BOSTON ROVER

Where’s My Jet has the potential to go to the top over fences and can make a winning return. He’s absent since finishing runner-up, a place ahead of Fleur In The Park, in a Grade 3 novice hurdle in November, and that promising run came after wins in August and September.

Fleur In The Park ran his best race when getting much closer to The Yellow Clay in December and also showed up particularly well in subsequent outings. Franciscan Rock ran in the best staying hurdles last season and he also has experience over fences.
