1.20 Gowran Park Hurdle (Listed) 2m 60yd
Having run solid races in Group 3 class on the fat on his latest couple of starts, Gaucher can give weight away to his rivals. A confirmed front runner, the Willie Mullins-trained gelding sets a decent standard from an official rating of 150. If getting into a fluent rhythm from the off, the seven-year-old should be hard to pass.
El Cairos ran better than the bare result suggests when seventh in the Galway Hurdle last time. A mistake two out arguably cost the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding his chance, as he found himself tight for room early in the straight. On his novice form from last winter, he has to hold solid claims.
SELECTION: GAUCHER
Next best: El Cairos
1.55 BOYLE Sports Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) 2m 60yd
A winner of both Irish starts since joining Willie Mullins, Witches Familiar can complete the hat-trick. An easy scorer at Ballinrobe in May, the former French-trained filly put in an even more impressive performance against stronger opposition at Galway recently.
Runner-up in a listed race over hurdles at Punchestown in December, Switch From Diesel subsequently won twice at that same venue. Off the track since finishing third on the flat in June, the Ross O’Sullivan-trained mare has every chance if race fit.
SELECTION: WITCHES FAMILIAR
Next best: Switch From Diesel
2.30 Jack Duggan Memorial Handicap Hurdle 3m 40yd
Fad Eadrainn can win here for local trainer Patrick Foley. Somewhat unlucky in running when a staying-on fourth in a stronger race at Punchestown in April, the eight-year-old takes a significant drop in class. Having run well fresh in the past, he should be primed for this contest.
Recent Ballinrobe winner Cobra Queen could be open to further progression over flights. Rated 3lb higher over fences, the Henry de Bromhead-trained mare, who is in decent from at present, has to be respected in her follow up bid.
SELECTION: FAD EADRAINN
Next best: Cobra Queen
3.05 PWC Danoli Chase (Grade 2) 2m 4f
Grade 1 winner Fleur In The Park can make a winning seasonal debut. Despite having to concede weight to his rivals, the Andy Slattery-trained gelding has more scope for improvement and has run well off similar breaks in the past. He can take this before having his sights raised.
Blood Destiny sets the standard on official ratings. An impressive winner at the Galway Festival, the Willie Mullins-trained seven-year-old is a very decent horse at his best. Likely to make the running, it will take a smart performance to pass him.
SELECTION: FLEUR IN THE PARK
Next best: Blood Destiny
3.40 Like A Butterfly Novice Chase (Grade 3) 2m 4f
Unbeaten in three starts over fences, Shadow Paddy sets a clear standard. A smart horse over hurdles last year, the Eoin McCarthy-trained gelding has improved significantly since being faced with a set of fences. While this represents his stiffest test to date, the six-year-old can pass with flying colours.
Fourth in a Grade 1 over hurdles at Aintree, Frankie John made a winning start to his chasing career at Galway.
Having given the impression that he was always going to make a better chaser, the Denis Hogan-trained gelding could be capable of further improvement this term.
SELECTION: SHADOW PADDY
Next best: Frankie John
4.15 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Captain Christy Rated Novice Chase 3m
A winner on his chasing debut at Punchestown in June, Quantum Quest can follow up. Just about the best of these over hurdles, the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding was runner-up in a Grade 3 at Cork in December. He has the scope to progress into a decent horse over fences in time. Point-to-point winner Ma Jacks Hill rates the main danger. Although only successful in one of five starts over fences, the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding has amassed plenty of experience which should stand to him now. With Kevin Healy claiming 7lb, the son of Famous Name looks nicely treated.
SELECTION: QUANTUM QUEST
Next best: Ma Jacks Hill
4.50 SIS Supporting Irish Racing Beginners Chase 2m 4f
Third in a Grade 1 hurdle at Punchestown in April, I Started A Joke can make a winning start to his chasing career. A lightly raced seven-year-old, the Charles Byrnes-trained gelding developed into a smart novice hurdler last season. Switching straight to fences now, he should be good strong for this opposition.
Point-to-point winner Forty Coats could provide the biggest threat. Last seen when finishing seventh in the BetMGM Cup at Cheltenham in March, the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding holds every chance if ready on his seasonal reappearance.
SELECTION: I STARTED A JOKE
Next best: Forty Coats

Luimneach can win for the second time since joining trainer Conor O’Dwyer. Off the mark on his second start for the yard at Kilbeggan in July, the nine-year-old ran another solid race when third to a course specialist at Wexford on his only subsequent appearance.
Jupiter Du Gite, who has been running well over hurdles of late, holds every chance back over fences. Having yet to compete in a chase for current connections, the seven-year-old comes into this contest relatively unexposed.
SELECTION: LUIMNEACH
