1.35 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF FILLIES MAIDEN 1M

Pink Dogwood should take beating on her third appearance. She began her career with an encouraging 10l second to the Group 1-placed Lady Kaya at the Curragh and she returned to that track last month to finish a 2¾l second to Trethias in a 1m maiden. The latter didn’t let the form down with a good run from a terrible draw in a listed race at Leopardstown last weekend.

For Your Eyes looks a likely threat following a pleasing debut third to Zagitova at Cork last month. Mia Maria is a notable newcomer as an own-sister to the very talented Carla Bianca.

2.05 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF (C&G) MAIDEN 1M

This could fall to I Am Superman who showed lots of promise on his racecourse debut late last month. The Footstepsinthesand colt marked himself as a certain future winner when finishing a ¾l second to Breaking Story in a 7f Curragh maiden and he showed there that he tolerates an ease in the ground which is important with regard to today’s going.

He could have most to fear from Circus Maximus who contested the same Curragh maiden and shaped encouragingly to be beaten just over 5l into fifth.

2.35 DENNY CORDELL LAVARACK & LANWADES STUD FILLIES STAKES (GROUP 3) 1M 1F 100YDS

Beautiful Morning is put forward to secure her second Group 3 triumph of the season. The form of her Royal Whip Stakes win was boosted when Deauville ran such a fine race in defeat to finish third in last weekend’s Irish Champion Stakes.

She is easily forgiven her sixth in last Sunday’s Blandford Stakes where the majority of those that were held up off the pace struggled to get involved. She will enjoy the ground and she can see off Ship Of Dreams who has run some fine races at stakes level this year.

Ship Of Dreams coped well with testing ground at Listowel last week when only just losing out to Panstarr. Jaega is feared on her return from a break and she is another who relish the going.

3.10 GOWRAN PARK RACE 1M

A rating of 102 possibly overstates how much Burning Question has in hand over these rivals.

However, she clearly relishes soft ground and she was utterly dominant from the front on testing ground at Listowel last week when dishing out a 12l beating to her rivals in a 1m handicap. She is an improving filly with more to offer.

She can deal with the imposing North Face who turned in a nice effort on his debut to win a 1m maiden at Navan earlier this month. The capable Tony The Gent isn’t one to underestimate.

3.45 JUMPS RACING RETURNS TO GOWRAN PARK OCTOBER 5TH HANDICAP (45-65) (DIVISION 1) 1M

Best Not Argue should be able to defy top weight. She was returning from almost a year off when defeating Piper Bomb by ½l in a 7f handicap at Roscommon at the start of the month and she can improve sufficiently to cope with a 9lb rise in the ratings.

The longer trip and slower ground of today’s assignment shouldn’t present her with any problems.

Miss Opportunity ran two decent races on testing ground much earlier in the season and a return to that form will make her a contender.

4.20 JUMPS RACING RETURNS TO GOWRAN PARK OCTOBER 5TH HANDICAP (45-65) (DIVISION 2) 1M

The recent course winner Aunty Audrey can strike again. She is only 5lbs higher for this racem which isn’t excessive, and the change in ground won’t present her with any difficulties as she showed up well on dire ground at this track last October.

She can deal with Dharma Rain who looked to step forward for the switch to testing going when going down by ½l to Shifted Strategy over 1m at Listowel last week.

SELECTION: AUNTY AUDREY

4.50 GOWRAN GOLF MEMBERSHIP 2019 FROM €499 APPRENTICE HANDICAP (50-75) 1M 1F 100YDS

A speculative vote goes to Newlyn who has shown ability on her three outings to date. She wasn’t beaten that far in a reasonable 1m 4f maiden at Listowel last week while she should be quite happy dropping back in distance as she did show promise over 7f at Dundalk last month when beaten just over 5½l into sixth by Iiex Excelsa.

She has more room for improvement than many of these and can see off the reliable Passing Trade who ran twice at Listowel and showed up well to be beaten less than a length into third by Shifted Strategy on the second of those outings.

SELECTION: NEWLYN

5.25 LIVE MUSIC AFTER RACING MAIDEN 1M 1F 100YDS

Bright Eyed looks capable of winning a maiden. The 72-rated filly wasn’t disgraced on her first two outings but she took a step forward at Listowel last week when finishing strongly from midfield to be beaten just a neck by Quinns Red Rose. The conditions here will be similar and she can see off the long absent Fightfortheroses who did show some promise when fifth to Whirling Dervish in a 1m 1f maiden at Tipperary almost a year ago.
