Give Her A Squeeze sets a fair standard on form, considering she was third in a Naas Group 3. The Kodiac filly is going the right way but with the conditions of this race, she has to concede weight all around. The one she might struggle against is Amber Kite, to whom she concedes 6lbs. Ger Lyons’s daughter of New Bay has shown up nicely on both of her starts and was only beaten a nose at Limerick last week. On a line through Inner Beauty, who she wasn’t far behind on her debut, she shouldn’t be too far away from Giver Her A Squeeze and the weight difference may tell.

Tom McCourt’s Sweet Justice has finished second on three of her four starts this season and the three horses that beat her (Shona Mea, Kosman and Take My Hand) reoppose. However she meets all three on better terms today, has a nice draw in stall three and with Colin Keane booked again, it could well be her turn.

Shona Mea will have plenty of supporters after her Thursday Leopardstown win, with a 6lb penalty probably underestimating her. The quick turnaround and wide draw won’t help though. At a probable bigger price, Kodiac Prince might be worth chancing after a decent effort to finish fourth on his handicap debut at Leopardstown.

Although she is making her seasonal debut and has to concede weight all around, Kastasa can outclass her rivals. Dermot Weld’s filly progressed significantly last season, notably winning the Petingo Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend and then following that up with a Group 3 at the Curragh. She has won fresh before and significantly, she is proven at this longer trip, which isn’t the case for her main rivals.

Heliac stayed on nicely to take the Listed Noblesse Stakes on her seasonal debut and could progress again for this further trip but the two Joseph O’Brien-trained fillies look interesting, especially Mighty Blue. She was beaten by Traisha at Killarney last week but has a 6lb swing at the weights and could progress again on her third run in Ireland.

It’s difficult to ignore the claims of So Wonderful, who has been operating at a significantly higher level than this and should get off the mark. She was third to Peaceful in the Irish 1000 Guineas on her first start of the season and her rating of 105 is head and shoulders above her rivals today.

Sea The Magic, a Sea The Stars filly, is an interesting newcomer for Ger Lyons, but Never Forgotten, trained by Joseph O’Brien, looks better equipped to give the favourite most to do. The Galileo filly improved from her debut fifth at this course to finish second in an 18-runner Curragh maiden earlier this month.

Epona Plays probably has the best form in this race but she was disappointing on her latest start at Killarney and doesn’t seem to be going in the right direction. Laggata looks like a better option for Johnny Murtagh. She improved from a promising debut Leopardstown fourth to finish second to Baraniya at Roscommon. She can improve again now on her third start and returning to a mile could also help.

Theophile has also given a good account of herself on just two starts, finishing third at Leopardstown and a close fifth at the Curragh. Coming back to a mile could well suit her.

Charlie Bassett can build on his Fairyhouse second to get off the mark. He hit the front early for Gavin Ryan that day and looked all over the winner until deep inside the final furlong when mugged on the line by a rallying Springbank. He may have been idling and may do better if brought with a later challenge today but either way, it was a good run and he should go well if replicating that level.

Daylight Come probably has the best form in the race having got within two lengths of Irish Derby third Dawn Patrol at Naas on his latest start. He has to defy a wide draw but should be on the premises again.

Slieve Bearnagh has been in good form and did well to finish third at this course on his latest start, coming from a high draw. He has to defy another high draw today however and for that reason, marginal preference is for John Murphy’s Divine Celt, who has been in good form this term. She was third to Shona Mea at this course on her first start and the form of that race has worked out well.

Dragon Belle surprised a few when finishing a 50/1 second to Stellaire Enfant on her seasonal debut at Limerick last week. She finished directly in front of two of her main rivals today, Hidden Spark and Musalsal, and now with the benefit of race fitness and left on the same rating, she could be difficult to peg back.

Another who could be worth chancing is Fascinating Spirit. On her second start for Eoin McCarthy, she stepped up significantly from her penultimate run to finish third at Killarney.
