The Epsom Derby form will take a bit of testing tomorrow, when fourth home, the Ralph Beckett-trained Bay Of Brilliance (Hector Crouch) travels to contest the German Derby at Hamburg. The colt had previously finished a close second to the Derby second Maltese Cross in the Lingfield Derby Trial Stakes.

Andreas Wohler‘s Saxon Warrior colt Gostam was unbeaten in four runs, including one of the main trials, the Group 2 Bavarian Classic, and he was sent to run in the Prix du Jockey Club. Despite only finishing eighth, he was only three and three-quarter lengths behind Constitution River. He does have a very wide draw in 17 in the field of 20.

The Marcel Weiss-trained Englishman (Sibylle Vogt) is unbeaten in his two runs and poses a threat. The Nathaniel colt has won his two outings and won the traditional main trial, the Group 2 191st Union-Rennen in Cologne from Andreas Wohler’s other runner, Westminster Rocket.

Cieren Fallon partners Liberty Racing’s Chiefland, a listed trial winner for trainer Henk Grewe, who has trained the winner in two of the last four years.

Seamie Heffernan travels over to take the mount on the Sarah Steinberg-trained Waladares. The trainer was successful with Fantastic Moon in 2023.

The Gleneagles colt was third last time in the Group 3 Japan Racing Association Derby-Trial at Baden-Baden.
