The Willie Mullins-trained Chart Topper should be capable of improving on his recent chasing debut at this track. Sent off joint-favourite on that occasion, a bad mistake mid-race arguably cost him any chance and the lightly raced seven-year-old should be open to further improvement.
A bumper winner here earlier in his career, the Padraig Butler-trained Da Capo Glory has been placed on four of his five starts over fences and with the benefit of that chasing experience, has to be a leading contender.
SELECTION: CHART TOPPER

Talk In The Park had been somewhat disappointing this term, prior to showing a bit more when fourth at Listowel recently. Well-treated on the best of last year’s form, the Ross O’Sullivan-trained gelding is a previous winner over hurdles at this track and provided the ground doesn’t deteriorate too much, can get his head in front again.
Paul Nolan’s former point-to-point and hurdle winner, Only For Our Man, could provide the main threat, having made the perfect start to his chasing career at Sligo last time and benefits from Eoin Staples’ 5lb claim.
SELECTION: TALK IN THE PARK
Next best: Only For Our Man

Listowel Festival winner Potters Pal can make it two from two over fences, on his first start for trainer Gerry Mangan. Pitched straight into handicap company on his fencing debut, the five-year-old scored easily by three and a half lengths.
Lightly-raced over hurdles, the Robert Tyner-trained Harty Cup has to be of interest on his chasing debut. A winner at Clonmel in February, the J.P. McManus-owned gelding was placed on his sole point-to-point start and connections have wasted little time in switching to fences.
SELECTION: POTTERS PAL
Next best: Harty Cup
2.17 COLM QUINN BMW Mares Maiden Hurdle 2m 11yd
Dual bumper winner Light Up The Dark has run well in some big staying handicaps and with an official rating of 87 on the level, the Camelot mare has the potential to make a smart novice hurdler.
Runner-up twice from three runs over flights, the Gavin Cromwell-trained Simply Natural has an official rating of 112 and sets a fair standard in a race of this nature.
SELECTION: LIGHT UP THE DARK
Next best: Simply Natural

Second behind a well-handicapped winner at the festival here in August, Castleheath can go one better. A winner on the flat at last year’s festival, the Ciaran Murphy-trained gelding is still well-treated relative to his flat mark and has decent claims.
Unbeaten in three starts at this track, the Enda Bolger-trained Inthenickoftime has to be respected. The son of Gleneagles now races off an 8lb higher mark after last month’s comfortable win but on the evidence of that run, may still ahead of the handicapper.
SELECTION: CASTLEHEATH
Next best: Inthenickoftime

Minella Hollow can land a tight knit affair for trainer John Nallen. Having beaten a smart horse to win his maiden hurdle at Killarney in August, the six-year-old ran a solid race when mid-division on the flat at Listowel subsequently and was third last time in a Grade 3 hurdle at Gowran.
Ole Ole has to hold decent claims for the Gavin Cromwell stable. A fair juvenile hurdler last term, the Cloth Of Stars gelding readily landed his maiden hurdle at Bellewstown in April. Mid-division in the Lartigue Hurdle on his reappearance last month, the four-year-old should come on from that outing.
SELECTION: MINELLA HOLLOW
Next best: Ole Ole
3.56 Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate Maiden Hurdle 2m 5f 100yd
Having filled the runner-up position on his last three starts over hurdles, Bulgaden Castle can get his head in front. Placed in a point-to-point, he should appreciate stepping up to this trip here and Philip Rothwell is well able to have one ready, so an absence since March is no cause for concern.
Doctor Elvis sets the standard on what he has achieved to date, however, has something to prove now, having been pulled up when sent off an odds-on favourite at Wexford last time. If the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding were to run up to the very best of his form, he would be a serious contender.
SELECTION: BULGADEN CASTLE
Next best: Doctor Elvis

It could pay to take a chance with the Peter Fahey’s debutant Va La Vie. A daughter of a 131-rated hurdler, the Walk In The Park filly wouldn’t have to be anything out of the ordinary to win first time out.
Third at a huge price here last month, the Eamon Courtney-trained Mozart’s Song looks a leading contender. She is entitled to have benefitted from that initial experience and if stepping forward again, could go close.
SELECTION: VA LA VIE
