2.05 Renvyle House Hotel 3YO Maiden Hurdle 2m 90yds

Dinard Rose should make a useful recruit to jumping. She won three staying handicaps on the flat this year, her most recent success coming off a mark of 68 in the Ulster Cesarewitch, and her latest outing saw her finish a respectable seventh in the Irish Cesarewitch. She should do well in this sphere.

Her biggest danger might come from fellow jumping newcomer Early Strike who ran with plenty of promise on the flat at Navan earlier this month when he was second to Bear Claws in a 1m 2f handicap.

A tentative vote goes to Alpine Cobra. He has been off the track for a year and a half but his yard’s representatives have in the past overcome such absences and he looked a horse with a reasonable future when he won a 2m 3f Limerick bumper in April 2018.

He was in the process of running a reasonable race on his jumping debut in May 2018 when falling at the second last.

Gold Speed progressed from an encouraging run at Listowel to win a competitive looking Navan bumper last month. He should make a useful hurdler and can be expected to show up well. The winning pointer A Different World is a notable newcomer.

Fine Brunello makes plenty of appeal. He was a Grade 2-placed juvenile hurdler and he lines up off two solid efforts over fences at this track which have seen him finish third to Charlie Stout before he was a 24l second to Sayo several weeks ago.

He can do better still as a chaser and can make the most of a notable weight for age allowance.

His biggest danger could be Visioman who is on a hat-trick after chasing victories at Kilbeggan and Tipperary. Mount Pelier is of considerable interest on his chasing debut as he won a decent handicap hurdle when he was last in action in March.

SELECTION: FINE BRUNELLO

This could fall to Thatsy who shaped up nicely on his jumping debut at this track earlier in the month when he was beaten 2½l into second by Battle Of Midway in a 2m 3f maiden where he was possibly caught out by a lack of a recent run.

This Navan bumper winner shouldn’t have a problem with this shorter trip and that experience coupled with a recent run could make him hard to beat.

Latest Exhibition looked a nice prospect when he won a Naas bumper last January and could be a dangerous opponent on his first outing for 272 days. Davy’s Dilemma is a decent flat stayer who could make a smart recruit to jumping. He is another to watch.

SELECTION: THATSY

Top Moon progressed from a facile success in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle to run a good second to Razoul in last month’s Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel. That was only his third outing over timber and he did well to give such a good account of himself in a competitive handicap. He can progress further and is some 16lbs better off with Razoul for a 2¾l defeat.

Razoul has since run well to finish second in a Grade 3 at Tipperary but he faces a stiff assignment off his revised mark. A good run from Jon Ess would come as no surprise.

5.00 Faber Audiovisuals Handicap Hurdle (80-102) 2m 2f 163yds

He fell with two to jump in a handicap hurdle over a slightly longer trip here earlier in the month and had plenty to do at the time, but Georgieshore is worth taking a chance on here.

At the time of his exit he looked to be going quite nicely and he could easily have been involved, which makes him a lively contender for this prize. Emily Square hasn’t been in the best of form lately but she did run better than her ninth at Punchestown last week would suggest and a strong showing from her this afternoon wouldn’t come as any surprise.

SELECTION: GEORGIESHORE

Farceur Du Large showed plenty of ability in two starts last season. He was third to Front View in a Puchestown Festival bumper when last seen in action and prior to that he was an unlucky third in a listed four-year-old bumper at Limerick the previous month. He sets a good standard on those efforts and he can account for the newcomer Don Diablo who makes his racecourse debut after finishing a neck second in a point-to-point in May.

Favori Logique is respected as he looks to build on his third in a Ballinrobe bumper last month.

Selection: FARCEUR DU LARGE

Next Best: Don Diablo
