2.40 LADBROKES MOBILE MAIDEN HURDLE 2M 159YDS
Rogue Agent could make a winning start over timber. His trainer made a major impact with his first runners at Cork earlier in the month and the booking of Ruby Walsh for this former André Fabre inmate is significant. This son of Montjeu was quite a useful sort on the flat in France when he won twice. He hasn’t run since April 2015 but evidently a bold showing is expected. He is chosen ahead of the Kilbeggan bumper winner Black Ace who comes here off a second to Oscars Boss in a recent winners’ event at Tipperary. The former Navan bumper winner Art Of Security is interesting having recently returned from a lengthy absence.
Selection: ROGUE AGENT
Next best: Black Ace

This could see Plain Talking record her second success of the week. She had only ½l to spare over the unlucky Sea Light here on Wednesday but that was a good effort in the context of today’s race and she is taken to confirm recent Roscommon form with Mine Now and Some Hawk, both of whom are meeting her on better terms. Ibsen is 9lbs better off with Westerner Lady for a 2¾l beating over 2m 6f at Killarney earlier in the month and he might just be able to turn the tables. Westerner Lady is again a leading player. Some Hawk was having only his second run back from a two year absence when he was third to Plain Talking at Roscommon and he must have a major chance.
Selection: PLAIN TALKING
Next best: Ibsen
3.50 LADBROKES EBF MAIDEN 1M 73YDS
Capri looks a solid option. He showed lots of promise on his debut at the Curragh on Oaks weekend when finishing a ½l second to Arcada in what is traditionally a strong maiden. That effort marked him out as a certain maiden winner over the coming weeks. Mujaazy looks the biggest danger having finished a 5½l second to Oh Grace in a Leopardstown maiden last month. She will surely improve off that and her yard did win the first couple of two-year-old maidens on offer this week. Capri’s stablemate Tang Dynasty, who hails from a quality German family, is respected on his debut and so too is Rekindling who is a brother to the very smart middle distance runner Golden Sword.
Selection: CAPRI
Next best: Mujaazy
4.25 AN PUCAN EBF NURSERY HANDICAP 7F
A speculative vote goes to Room To Roam, who produced his best effort to date to be beaten just over 1l into fourth in a recent Leopardstown maiden won by Intern. The form of that race has been franked by Right Honourable’s victory here on Monday, and Room To Roam appeals as one that can make his presence felt from a low draw. Firey Speech has to carry top weight but that shouldn’t deter his supporters. He has a reasonable draw and he coped well with slow ground when winning a Naas maiden on soft ground almost a month ago. His effort that day suggested he would improve for the step up to 7f and he did defeat the subsequent winner Sportsmanship that day. Sir Edwin Landseer and Randall Stevens are closely matched on their previous meetings and possibly the former will come out on top. Neither are that well drawn though.
Selection: ROOM TO ROAM
Next best: Firey Speech
5.00 LADBROKES RED DAY HANDICAP (50-75) 7F
Beau Satchel has a welter burden to defy if he is to follow up his win here on Wednesday but he looks equal to the task. The well-drawn six-year-old has won at the last three Galway Festivals and this track clearly brings out the best in him. Chillie Billie won this race last year and is now 5lbs lower. He has over 4l to make up on Beau Satchel from their meeting earlier in the week but it wouldn’t come as any surprise to see him step forward on that showing. Cairdiuil is respected following his neck second to Millefiori over 1m on Wednesday. Although he is poorly drawn, the visored handicap newcomer Chapter One could step forward on what he has shown so far.
Selection: BEAU SATCHEL
Next best: Chillie Billie
5.35 LADBROKES ‘THE GRID’ HANDICAP (50-80) 1M 3F 180YDS
Jeremy’s Jet is a hopeful choice. He has yet to win a race but there was some encouragement to be taken from his fifth to Next Bend over 1m 5f at Navan earlier in the season. Masonbrook Lady does have to deal with a 12lbs rise in the ratings for her clear cut win at Gowran Park last weekend but she does enjoy an ease in the ground and she comes here in better heart than many of her rivals. Brokopondo’s second to the subsequent listed scorer Arya Tara in the Apprentice Derby is a strong piece of form.
Selection: JEREMY’S JET
Next best: Masonbrook Lady
6.05 TERRY CUNNINGHAM MEMORIAL EBF MARES FLAT RACE 2M
Queen Deirdre could make a winning debut. This daughter of King’s Theatre represents an all-conquering yard and makes major appeal on pedigree as her siblings include the high-class hurdler Identity Thief. Despite her lack of previous experience, she might have the measure of Appy Days, another well-related sort, whose career got off to an encouraging start when she a 1½l second to Pursecco at Roscommon just under a month ago. Lakemilan’s first run at Killarney, where she was third to Mountain Rock, makes her a likely contender.
Selection: QUEEN DEIRDRE
Next best: Appy Days
