2.45pm Prix d’Ispahan (Group 1) 1m 1½ furlongs

The eight-runner contest has two runners from Britain but they look like having to settle for minor honours as Andre Fabre has supplemented Sosie. Fourth in last year’s Arc, the Sea The Stars colt returned with a cozy win in the Group 1 Prix Ganay last month.

John and Thady Gosden’s lightly raced Sardinian Warrior is on the upgrade and won the Listed Paradise Stakes at Ascot last month.

Last year’s 1000 Guineas winner Elmalka failed to match her Guineas win in four subsequent races and was well beaten by Cinderella’s Dream on return in the Group 3 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket.

SELECTION: Sosie

3.28pm Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (Group 1) 1m 7½ furlongs

Promoted to a Group 1 this season, this stayers contest has attracted a field of nine.

Alan King’s now nine-year-old Trueshan heads the British challenge under James Doyle and is joined by the Saeed bin Suroor-trained pair of Dubai Future and Passion And Glory.

Dubai Future won the Group 2 Dubai Gold Cup over two miles beating tomorrow’s runner Double Major, who was the winner of the last two runnings of the Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak and with Passion And Glory fourth at Meydan.

Trueshan’s only win last season was in the Listed Coral Marathon at Sandown in July, though he was placed in the Doncaster Cup and Prix du Cadran.

The beautifully-bred Internaute (Sea The Stars- Solemia) could be the one to step up, though he was a beaten favourite last time to Presage Nocturne in a Group 3 with the Aga Khan Studs four-year-old Candelari also a new player on the staying scene.

The William Haggas-trained Lake Forest is the only overseas runner in the seven-furlong Group 3 Prix Du Palais-Royal (1.33pm).

The son of No Nay Never landed his biggest win in the Golden Eagle Stakes at Rosehill last autumn and his second in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot puts him in the top rank of sprinters.

Andre Fabre’s Group 3 Abernant Stakes winner Sajr is on a hat-trick but Christopher Head’s Group 2 Challenge Stakes winner at Newmarket, Topgear, was very impressive there and could take this.

SELECTION: Internaute
