12:30 BAR ONE RACING JUVENILE 3-Y-O HURDLE
(GRADE 3) 2M
The much-missed Our Conor is the best recent advert for previous winners of this race and this year’s contest looks to be very interesting indeed. Surprisingly, Willie Mullins has only won this race once in the last decade, but he looks to have a serious contender this season in the shape of the French import Kalkir. The son of Montmartre finished just behind the subsequent Grade 1 winner Bonito Du Berlais when fourth at Auteuil in April and with Ruby Walsh electing to ride him, he is likely to take all the beating. Of the newcomers to hurdling, the Andy Oliver-trained I’ll Be Your Clown rates as an exciting prospect based on his official rating of 93 on the flat.

Competitive fare and marginal preference is given to the Christy Roche-trained Speckled Wood. The six-year-old is a daughter of the great racemare Like-A-Butterfly and while she has yet to make an impact in a handicap chase, she is well handicapped and could well come good in this contest. Her most interesting rival is perhaps the Robert Tyner-trained Who Let De Dogsout, with the six-year-old having made a winning chasing debut at Cork last time and seeming fairly treated for her handicap chase debut.
Selection: SPECKLED WOOD

This is always a really strong test of stamina and one that will relish it is the Conor O’Dwyer-trained Folsom Blue. The seven-year-old has already confirmed his liking for an extreme test of stamina and his fifth in the Irish Grand National suggests he is still off a fair mark. Another that has a solid chance is the Robert Tyner-trained Embracing Change.
Selection: FOLSOM BLUE

A bumper that tends to work out well and unsurprisingly no shortage of promising horses have been declared for it. Willie Mullins won this race two years ago with Outlander and he looks to have a serious candidate for this renewal in the shape of Childrens List. A Presenting half-brother to the high-class chaser Schindlers Hunt, he impressed when winning a point-to-point at Belharbour in February. Of the rest, Philip Fenton has won two of the last three renewals of this race and his Akito looks to have solid prospects.
Selection: CHILDRENS LIST
