1.55 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF FILLIES MAIDEN 6F

There is very little to go on here with eight of the 10-strong field making their racecourse debut. Of the two that have some experience, Roman Gal gets the vote to build on an encouraging first start around this course and distance.

The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor, trained by Mick Halford, stayed on nicely to finish sixth in an 18-runner race won by the useful Sometimesadiamond.

The market may be the best guide to the newcomers but at the time of writing Michael O’Callaghan’s Aurora Eclipse looks interesting.

Man Power ran well first time out for O’Callaghan at Leopardstown on Thursday and Aurora Eclipse might be able to do the same with Pat Smullen booked to ride.

Selection: AURORA ECLIPSE

Boragh Steps sets a high standard here, on account of his excellent third place finish to Dawn Delivers at the Curragh. That was his racecourse debut and any sort of improvement from that run should see him off the mark at the second time of asking.

Jessica Harrington runs two horses: Beat Of My Heart, who has shown little on his only two starts, and newcomer Cristale. The latter will be ridden by Colm O’Donoghue and would be interesting if supported in the market beforehand

Selection: BORAGH STEPS

Next best: Cristale

2.55 RACE DISPLAYS HANDICAP 6F

Tom Dooley is an appealing proposition following his comfortable win at Leopardstown on Thursday night. He is probably well treated with just the mandatory 6lb penalty but he is coming down in trip and will have to negotiate that plus the quick turnaround.

Count Of Carabass was favourite to win on his previous run, which came over this course and distance, but he didn’t get a clear run in the straight and could only manage fifth. He can do better now with a little bit more luck in running.

Selection: COUNT OF CARABASS

Red Sabor has won his last two races for trainer Andy Slattery and he can make it three in a row in this six-furlong handicap. The son of Bated Breath has shown a willing attitude for both of those wins, which came in a Bellewstown handicap and most recently a rated race at Navan.

He has a progressive profile now so could be able to defy his new mark, which has moved up 11lbs to 92.

The remarkable Geological will have plenty of supporters but he has a hefty rating of 99 now and has to give weight to all of his rivals. Captain Power is more interesting coming back to six furlongs. Eddie Lynam’s horse last won a handicap off a mark off 87 so he has scope now off his current rating of 83.

Selection: RED SABOR

This looks a good opportunity for Michael O’Callaghan’s Perfect Soldier. It looks between him and the Aidan O’Brien-trained Barca, with little to split the pair after they finished second and third in a race won by New Terms over this course and distance earlier this month.

Barca has since finished second in a Dundalk maiden and may have to settle for that spot again against Perfect Soldier, who has a little more scope to progress on his third start of the season and third start as a gelding.

4.25 DUBLIN’S Q102 APPRENTICE HANDICAP

This is a tight five-runner contest but it can go to Tony Martin’s Landsman, who has to shoulder top weight but arrives in good heart.

The four-year-old has put up two solid efforts on his previous two runs, the first of which, came over this course and distance when he finished off his race really well to be beaten by just over two lengths by Thunder Crash. A replication of that effort should see him take home the win today.

The five other runners make limited appeal but old favourite Political Policy won on his previous run at Navan and, though thoroughly exposed, could improve again to have a say.

Selection: LANDSMAN

4.55 WWW.FAIRYHOUSE.IE RATED RACE 1M4F

The last race can go to Henry de Bromhead and Pat Smullen with Daybreak Boy. The four-year-old son of Kingsalsa ran with credit on his seasonal debut, finishing fourth behind the useful Tennessee Wildcat at Gowran Park.

He has scope to progress now, on just the fourth run of his life and second of the season, with his race fitness now assured. He will also have the assistance of Pat Smullen in the saddle.

The two three-year-olds in the line-up are getting weight but both ran poorly on their previous run so for that reason Fiesole gets the second vote.

Eoin Doyle’s horse won very easily last time and will be dangerous if in the same vein of form.

Selection: DAYBREAK BOY

Next best: Fiesole
