1.30 Ryan’s Cleaning Maiden Hurdle 2m 100yd

The Noel Meade-trained Colcannon can get off the mark over flights at the fourth attempt. A leading bumper horse last season, the gelding has shaped with promise on each of his three starts over jumps to date. It would be somewhat disappointing for connections if he doesn’t make the most of this opportunity.

A lightly-raced five-year-old, Splendid Fellow has improved with every run. With the form of his second placed finished at Cork last time well advertised subsequently, the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding shouldn’t be far away.

SELECTION: COLCANNON

2.05 Cawley Furniture Novice Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f

A former maiden winner here, Sticwiththeprocess catches the eye with cheekpieces retained. Ted Walsh’s gelding remains on the same mark as for that aforementioned success and, the application of headgear should help him travel better through the race. He looks sure to be involved at the business end.

Course and distance winner Don Jefe looks fairly treated off a mark of 113 on handicap debut. Having caught the eye on his previous start at Cork, the son of Jack Hobbs stepped up to land a first success here in February.

SELECTION: STICWITHTHEPROCESS

Next best: Don Jefe

2.40 Donohue Marquees Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m

Strongly fancied when a late withdrawal from the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle last month, Leader d’Allier can gain a measure of compensation. Runner-up on his Irish debut at Leopardstown over Christmas, the five-time winner in France opened his account in this country with an impressive success at Punchestown in January.

A 90-rated horse on the flat, Too Bossy For Us has taken well to jumping. Far from disgraced when mid division in the Supreme Novices’ last time, he looks the biggest threat to the Mullins first string.

SELECTION: LEADER D’ALLIER

3.15 Paddy Kehoe Suspended Ceilings Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m 4f

Runner-up in a well contested handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival last time, I Started A Joke could represent some value back in novice company. A lightly raced seven-year-old, the gelding still showed signs of inexperience last time, so the application of first-time cheekpieces looks a positive move.

A facile winner on his stable debut at Carlisle in February, He’s On Fire is difficult to get a handle on. While Willie Mullins runs a sextet here, the presence of Paul Townend on the son of Chanducoq suggests he is the number one hope.

SELECTION: I STARTED A JOKE

4.25 BoyleSports Novice Handicap Chase (Listed) 2m 140yd

Dual hurdle winner Shuffle The Deck can register a first win over fences. Although arguably better over slightly further than this, the Ted Walsh-trained gelding travels well in his races and, won over flights at this trip. Entering into handicap company for the first time as a chaser, he gives the impression he has more to offer.

Come Walk With Me is one that catches the eye towards the foot of the weights. On a card where he sponsors a race, trainer Edward Cawley would surely love to get amongst the winners and, this seven-year-old has most likely been prepared with that in mind.

SELECTION: SHUFFLE THE DECK

5.30 Race Displays Joseph O’Reilly Hunters Chase 3m 180yd

Well touted when a late absentee from the Foxhunters’ at Cheltenham, Wrappedupinmay can make amends. Sam Curling knows what it takes to handle a leading hunter chaser and, the Tipperary-based trainer holds this son of Ocovango in high regard. With a clear preference for soft ground, any rain that falls will add to his claims.

A listed winner under rules, Hunters Yarn has done well since switching to point-to-points. Runner-up on his latest two starts in hunter chases, the nine-year-old is sure to be involved in the finish.

SELECTION: WRAPPEDUPINMAY
