12.15 JIM RYAN RACECOURSE SERVICES BEGINNERS CHASE 2M 5F

Any Second Now has yet to win over fences but has already achieved a mark of 143, one that should give him a leading chance. Much the best of these horses over hurdles, he has crucial chasing experience having already raced six times over the larger obstacles. It will be disappointing if he can’t get off the mark here.

Flawless Escape was a decent novice hurdler last season, despite failing to fire when well fancied at the Cheltenham Festival. Off the track since March, he is sure to be well schooled for this chasing debut. As a lightly raced type, he remains open to plenty of improvement this campaign.

12.50 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MARES HANDICAP CHASE 2M 4F

Timeforwest won five times for Jonjo O’Neill before making a very pleasing Irish debut for her current stable at Clonmel. She had a couple of reopposing rivals behind her at the Tipperary venue and looks set to confirm the form even at these revised ratings. Good going seems important to the Peter Fahey-trained mare so she is sure to be at her peak before winter ground sets in.

Mrs Lovett had an easy task at Thurles last time but made short work of the opposition in a manner that couldn’t be faulted. She faces a stiffer test now but has to be given maximum respect representing these connections.

1.25 EASYFIX HANDICAP CHASE (GRADE B) 2M

All The Answers looks a very well-handicapped horse over fences following his impressive display at Cork last month. The J.P. McManus-owned seven-year-old has been hit with a 9lb hike for that but he should continue to remain ahead of the handicapper. Rated higher over hurdles last year, he could scale even greater heights as a chaser.

Blast Of Koeman, who was third to the selection in that Cork race, has work to do in order to reverse the placings. However, he is a consistent performer who has won over this course and distance so can almost certainly be relied on to run his race here.

1.55 FREE RACECOURSE WIFI AT FAIRYHOUSE MAIDEN HURDLE 2M 2F

Lone Wolf could be the answer to what looks a very competitive maiden hurdle. Joseph O’Brien thought enough of the son of Gold Well to give him his hurdling debut in a listed race at Punchestown earlier this year. On that occasion he ran a race full of promise before eventually finishing third. He reverted to bumper company to win at the same venue in April and has been on the sidelines since then. If anywhere near peak fitness he will be hard to beat back in maiden class.

Column Of Fire had a very satisfactory introduction to racing when second in the Goffs Land Rover in April and duly gained his first win when easily taking a Navan bumper last month. He is an exciting type who could be anything so will need to be monitored closely in the market.

2.30 CHRISTMAS PARTY RACE DAY DECEMBER 15TH RATED NOVICE HURDLE 2M 4F

Jack Dillinger had looked a frustrating maiden before his recent easy win at Clonmel and the switch to Joseph O’Brien seems to have done the trick. He faces plenty of unexposed sorts here but has every chance on official ratings and could even be a bit better than his current mark. Despite having less up his sleeve than those towards the head of the weights, he seems sure to be involved.

Eclat Des Mottes made a winning Irish debut at Downpatrick in August when easily disposing of the opposition. With the runner-up going on to win twice since and the third horse also winning a race, the form has been given a boost.

3.05 FAIRYHOUSE 2019 MEMBERSHIP HANDICAP HURDLE 2M 4F

Snugsborough Benny, who is well treated over hurdles relative to his chase mark, should be good enough to win here. Although it can often be a mistake to support horses switching disciplines, the Liam Cusack-trained eight-year-old has already proved a reliable hurdler so should have no problem in that regard. In great heart following an easy win over fences at Galway, he can make it two-in-a-row now.

Humm Baby is reunited with Paul Townend who partnered her to win at the Listowel Festival back in September. Michael Hourigan’s mare was in front too soon when just getting beat at Cork last time, so expect to see her arriving fast and late on this occasion.

3.40 KETTLES COUNTRY HOUSE HOTEL SUPPORTING FINGAL RAVENS GAA (PRO/AM) INH FLAT RACE 2M

Valdieu who has finished in the frame on his first four starts under rules looks to have been found a winning opportunity here. Time may show that he faced an impossible task when second to a well regarded sort at Down Royal last time and before that he went close at Punchestown. This doesn’t look the strongest of bumpers so it will be surprising if he fails to take full advantage.

Desir Du Large was second at Roscommon in May but his overall profile doesn’t suggest he is good enough to win a bumper on one of the better tracks. Those that side with him now will be hoping the switch to Joseph O’Brien works the oracle.
