2.00 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MEDIAN AUCTION MAIDEN 5F

Silent Look can make her experience count. The advantage of a run in two-year-old races at this time of year is significant and this filly can build on a pleasing debut here last month when she was beaten 3 1/2l by Ickworth.

The form of that race has already worked out with the runner-up Moments Linger going on to win here last week.

Captain Corcoran had to settle for sixth when going off favourite for the first two-year-old race of the season at Naas last month but he should be all the better for that outing and he can make his presence felt. America Lady is notable as a daughter of a sire, Starspangledbanner, who does especially well with his juveniles.

2.35 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MAIDEN 5F

On her return from an absence of well over a year Mistress Of Venice showed up well at Navan a couple of weeks ago when finishing third to Levee Breaks.

This 93-rated mare can surely improve on that showing and she gets the vote ahead of Empire State.

The latter has shown on a number of occasions that a maiden success is within his reach and he will be dangerous with the benefit of a comeback run – fourth to Western Dawn at Naas last month – to aid his cause.

Nicaro has ground to make up on the selection from Navan but he too can progress from what was his first run of the season.

SELECTION: MISTRESS OF VENICE

3.05 MARSHES SHOPPING CENTRE LADIES DAY RATED RACE 6F

Mid Winster is a hopeful choice in what looks a competitive affair.

This filly won a 5f Curragh maiden last August and on her final run of the season showed up well to finish a 3l fourth to Indigo Balance in the Listed Curragh Stakes.

Her rider’s 5lb claim should also help her cause and that allowance leaves her meeting Burmese Waltz on good terms.

The later finished in midfield in a Leopardstown listed race on her final start of the season but the drop back to this trip will work in her favour, and she was an impressive winner of a maiden over this course and distance last August.

The reliable Empire Line comes here in good heart and he too is a leading contender.

SELECTION: MID WINSTER

3.40 IMPERIAL HOTEL DUNDALK MAIDEN 7F

The 81-rated Ferretti has been found a good opportunity to get off the mark.

He looked as though he would be all the better for the run when he was sixth to Wargrave in a maiden over this trip on the opening day of the season and the switch to better ground should make a big difference to him.

The form he showed to chase home San Andreas in a Naas maiden last October would indicate that a maiden success won’t be long coming his way this year.

Smile Ahead did not build on her debut third to Cautious Approach when sixth in another mile maiden here several weeks later but she is well worth another chance in a race that lacks strength in depth.

SELECTION: FERRETTI

4.15 RECRUIT ISLAND HANDICAP 1M 4F

Rockfish is put forward to recapture last season’s form which carried him to four handicap victories.

One of those wins came over an extended 1m2f at this track and this trip should actually suit him better.

His rider claims a useful 10lbs, he is fitted with cheekpieces for the first time and, most importantly, he showed signs of returning to form when finishing fourth to Latchet in a Leopardstown handicap last week.

He can see off Political Policy who ran quite respectably over hurdles last time having previously finished a close third to Park Row in a handicap over this course and distance.

The in-form Georgian Bay and Waterboy are two others that make plenty of appeal.

SELECTION: ROCKFISH

4.45 RACING POST HANDICAP (45-70) 1M 2F 150YDS

After making a pleasing return to action at Navan two weeks ago, Dreamboat Dave can get off the mark.

He showed promise to reach the frame in a couple of handicaps late last year and his comeback third behind Cuban Hope in a 1m2f three-year-old handicap at Navan indicated that a first success may not be all that long in coming his way.

Lyrical Attraction is a likely threat having finished a 2l third to Cuban Hope in a 1m handicap at this track last month. Eyeoweyou’s last two maiden runs entitle him to due consideration.

5.20 LMFM DUAL RACE NIGHT FRIDAY 3rd MAY HANDICAP (45-65) 1M 2F 150 YDS

Wild Shot lines up here chasing a hat-trick, and he has gone up just 8lbs for those two victories which gives him a realistic chance of making it three wins on the spin.

The drop back to an extended 10 furlongs this week could work in his favour and should enable him to confirm form with the admirable Sharjah – a 13-time winner – who lost out by just a nose when they met nine days ago.

The course and distance winner Spanish Dawn has been running quite well and is another to keep in mind.
