Crayons In The Sky didn’t get a clear run when finishing third on debut to Alwaysanangel, who was subsequently beaten three parts of a length in a Group 2 and is one of the favourites for a listed race at Cork on Friday evening.

Stephen Thorne’s filly was somewhat disappointing a week later, but the first two home have impressed since, and she should come here a fresher filly after a bigger gap between races.

On that basis, Starlit is worth considering after her debut sixth to Livenka in the Ballyhane Stakes, when she didn’t get the clearest of runs. Hip Hop Chrissy and Tosca No Candis are others to have shown promise behind smart types.

All of Cuban Grey’s wins have come over the minimum trip, but his last two starts, including when fourth in the Rockingham Handicap, suggest that the six-year-old may now stay six furlongs.

Punica Granatum has been inconsistent but has a chance on her best form, while well-related newcomers Galavanting and Hurleys Hill are worth a market check.

Ballydoyle sends two by sire sensation Gun Runner and it’s informative that Wayne Lordan rides Ile De France, who finished fifth to subsequent Richmond Stakes winner Man’s Best Friend on debut.

His well-bred stablemates Aachen and Magna Cum Laude (by Flightline) can’t be discounted, nor can Donnacha O’Brien’s Verona Basilica, a St Mark’s Basilica half-brother to Serpentine.

Equus Victor was the subject of some support on debut and since gelded, can be expected to step forward today.

Plenty of these won last time out, but a number have been well penalised. Movin And Groovin received 4lb for her winning stable debut over course and distance and given that it was her first start in over a year, there’s a strong chance she can defy the 4lb rise with the benefit of a recent run.

Famous Enough was beaten just a head that day and is expected to be in the mix again.

Reponse Final scored on her first start for Gavin Cromwell on Wednesday and while this is a quick return, she won in comfortable enough fashion to suggest she’s capable of following up.

All four of Genoah’s career wins have come here, three over them over course and distance. He is now rated 2lb above his last winning mark (when he scored by a head over a mile and a half) and looks capable of winning again over his ideal trip.

Star Harbour has won over a variety of trips, all of them on the turf, but he has gone close here off higher marks, including when runner-up in this race two years ago.

Slieve Binnian was third that day and remains of interest, as does the recently gelded group winner Crypto Force.

Copper Craft is another who has run well here and is worth considering, as is Dundalk regular Storm Eric.
