With seven previous runs over flights, the five-year-old has plenty of experience at this stage and ran a respectable race at Galway last time. Santa Paula, who ran her best race to date when third at Kilbeggan recently, looks the biggest danger. A lightly raced six-year-old, the Dermot McLoughlin-trained mare could be open to further improvement after just two starts over jumps.

A beaten favourite over course and distance last time, Chanceawetmorning can recover losses. Having looked a progressive sort since joining Gordon Elliott, the six-year-old clearly failed to give his true running. Despite a slight worry about his ability to handle this track, on ratings he looks the one to beat.

Malbay Madness, who won that aforementioned race, shouldn’t be far away. Mid division at Bellewstown subsequently, the form of that latter race has been well advertised in the interim.

Well handicapped over hurdles relative to his flat mark, Pralognan can record a second win over this course and distance. An infrequent winner, who arguably should have more than the sole success over flights, the Tony Martin-trained gelding looks to hold solid claims for his in-form team.

Augusta George tends to run some of his better races at this unique track and the eight-year-old gelding has to be respected back at a venue where he won his bumper and finished second in a maiden hurdle.

Handicap debutant Poetic Twist can land this prize for trainer Gordon Elliott. Runner-up to a smart mare at Kilbeggan last time, she had previously beaten a subsequent winner to shed her maiden tag at Tramore. A mark of 109 looks reasonable and the daughter of Poet’s Word can prove as much.

An early casualty at Galway, the Enda Bolger-trained Samba Train had previously beaten the selection at Killarney. Despite having a bit to do at these revised weights, she looks the biggest threat.

Runner-up on his debut over a similar trip at Ballinrobe, Young Doran can go one better. The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding was on and off the bridle before staying on well for minor honours. A stiff track such as this should suit his running style and he can open his account.

Point-to-point winner Thesilverbridle also finished second on her recent debut under rules. Sure to have benefited from that experience, John McConnell’s mare will appreciate stepping up in trip now.

Narrowly denied at Wexford last time, former course and distance winner Georgia Celena can add a second victory at this track. Raised 2lb since her recent defeat, that doesn’t seem overly harsh given that herself and the winner pulled over two lengths clear of the third.

Hay Baby proved disappointed when well supported on her recent stable debut for Emmet Mullins. Fitted with a first-time tongue tie here, it would be no surprise to see the former point-to-point scorer bounce back.

Despite being beaten when sent off favourite on her debut over course and distance, it is surely significant that Willie Mullins elects to return here with Culldoo. A daughter of Doctor Dino, the four-year-old is entitled to have come on from her introduction and this looks a winnable contest.

Loves A Laugh, who also reached the frame on her debut over course and distance, can give the selection most to do. Also sure to be all the better for that initial experience, she can make her presence felt.
