Valencia boasts smart juvenile form, taking runner-up honours behind a subsequent Group 3 winner, before finishing a fine fourth in the Goffs Million. She disappointed on her seasonal return but is entitled to come on from that and faces seemingly weaker opposition today.

Her pedigree suggests this trip could be within her reach, and that is definitely the case for In My Teens, a Camelot filly out of a dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles. She outran her odds on debut when finishing second to a more experienced rival in a mile maiden at Gowran.

Avant Nous has run with credit in two Curragh maidens and should find this an easier task.

Camavere’s introductory mark gives her a strong chance of making a winning handicap debut. She was just half a length behind a filly now rated 91 when finishing fourth on debut, and while her last start was disappointing, it came against stronger competition.

Alba Chiara did well to finish third over course and distance last month, having raced wide from the back of the field and should make the frame again today.

Sottsands remains on the same mark as her one-length defeat 10 days ago. She has prior form over this trip, finishing third with a blacktype horse in second.

Cala Bonita showed a good attitude when getting off the mark at Gowran last time out and could be capable of defying the 7lb she received from the handicapper. Her pedigree suggests that the step up in trip could yield further improvement.

Letiza was a bit disappointing at Leopardstown last time but it was her first start since November and she should strip fitter today.

Palmezzano had excuses last time (clinically abnormal) when sent off favourite against a higher-rated field than today’s. First-time cheekpieces give hope of a better show here.

Pinball Wizard ran well last time out but his last two wins have come off lower marks with claimers aboard.

Lady Lunette’s third at Leopardstown on her penultimate start came to a progressive horse who has won four of his last five starts. A change to more prominent tactics next time didn’t work out, but she won last year’s Nasrullah Handicap off a similar mark when taking Jack Kearney’s claim into account.

The race that Navy Waters won last month wasn’t as strong as some Irish maidens but the course and distance form counts for something, as do her two previous placings, and she starts off what looks a workable mark.

Naas maiden winner Sound Of Lightning raced wide on handicap debut at Leopardstown and is worth another chance, particularly over this trip, which could bring further improvement.

Topweight Royal Entry took fourth in a listed race over two miles here last month and the way she finished makes this drop down in trip a concern, especially considering she won her maiden over a mile and a half.

A disappointing turnout considering the prize fund of €100,000. Acapulco Bay brings the best form, which gained a boost when Zahrann, who he finished third to in a listed contest at Leopardstown, subsequently finished second in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.

Glen To Glen is an interesting recruit for the Joseph O’Brien yard, having followed up a six-furlong Curragh maiden win with a fine third over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown after making the running. The winner of that race, Serious Contender, finished second in the King George V Stakes on Thursday, giving some depth to the form.

Kilmeaden’s Ballinrobe second received a boost when the winner Carmers went on to win a listed race and the Group 2 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot this week. Donnacha O’Brien’s colt was a beaten favourite next time, but he could bounce back on better ground.

Arcland has made a decent start for Gavin Cromwell and the manner in which he won last time suggests that he could defy his revised mark. There was considerable market support behind him on that occasion too, backed down to 6/4 (from 14/1).

Jawhary didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs at Fairyhouse last time and if he produces a similar effort today, the visored gelding could gain his first win since June 2021.

Jarvis Brook previously came within a short-head of a win on the flat. Today’s career-low mark and trip could get him off the mark.

Billie Frechette has been running well under both codes but has plenty of weight to carry here.

Astelia ran a fine race earlier this month after an extremely long layoff and while that was over hurdles, she has some smart form on the flat, having finished second in a Curragh maiden won by a horse now rated in the 90s.

First Ascent showed the benefit of experience when producing an improved effort here over 10 and a half furlongs last time out, beaten a nose by Navy Waters who lines up in the Ulster Oaks earlier on today’s card.

Her pedigree doesn’t suggest she’ll stay this trip though, unlike Colpe Cross, who finished fifth on debut in the same race.

It’s difficult to be confident in Stariam’s attitude after six placings, despite the promise she’s shown in similar company.
