1.50 DUNDALK STADIUM RACE 5F

Caspian Prince can take advantage of a drop in class having come up short in a Group 2 at Goodwood last time. He showed tremendous early speed when beaten just 1l by Sir Maximilian in the Rockingham two months ago. His Rockingham run gives him a clear edge over course and distance winner My Good Brother who was beaten a total of 3l into third that day. Flight Risk was beaten just over 1½l into fourth by Scream Blue Murder in last month’s Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes. The drop back to 5f is a concern for him. Yulong Baoju won this race last year but this is a good deal tougher.

Selection: CASPIAN PRINCE

This could fall to Kimbay who ran with distinct promise on her only previous outing this year when finishing a head second to Almadaa in a 6f handicap at Naas two months ago. The pace she showed at Naas would indicate that the drop back in trip should hold no fears for her. Times In Anatefka ran poorly at Ayr on her most recent start in May but she did put together several very reasonable efforts in defeat before that. Suburban Sky won well at Cork last month on slow ground which has earned her an 8lb rise in the weights. She has previously looked at home on much faster ground so the switch back to this surface isn’t a concern.

Selection: KIMBAY

2.50 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF PREMIER NURSERY HANDICAP 5F

Dandyleekie can defy top weight. The 93-rated colt last time out was beaten 2½l into third in a 6f conditions race at Naas won by the Debutante Stakes second Lucida. He shouldn’t have any trouble dropping back to this trip and despite conceeding weight all round he looks the one to side with. The lightly weighted Sassy But Classy is a threat. Her 3l second to Simply A Star at Tipperary last time gives her an edge over Folk Law who was 1¾l behind her that day and now has to concede 11lb. Folk Law and Arriana are virtually inseparable on their showing in a listed race at Tipperary two months ago where they finished fifth and sixth.

Selection: DANDYLEEKIE

3.25 WWW.DUNDALKSTADIUM.COM MAIDEN 7F

He failed to justify odds on favouritism last time but General Marshall is worth another chance. The War Front colt was third to the promising Shepherd’s Purse at the Curragh. He has a rating of 94 and the step up in trip won’t be a problem despite his wide draw. Lola Beaux ran with considerable promise to finish a ¾l second to Zafilani in a Tipperary maiden last week. She shopuld improve off that initial outing and also lines up with a leading chance. If he returned the form of his debut run Zylan would be interesting and he possibly did not enjoy the ground at Cork last time. Griko is an Iffraaj colt from the family of Shamardal and Street Cry, while Mainicin is a sister to the dual listed winner Paene Magnus who is particularly effective on polytrack.

Selection: GENERAL MARSHALL

Next best: Lola Beaux

3.55 DUNDALK STADIUM APPRENTICE MAIDEN 1M

Carrie Bow Cay will have to improve on her run at Naas last time but her debut effort over this course and distance in July gives her a definite chance. Her half-brother, Hot Bed, was very well suited by this surface. Quartz is an obvious danger as he looks to build on his solid debut run at Bellewstown last week where he was beaten 2¼l into third by Shemshal. Duchess Andorra certainly has the ability to make her mark at this level and could return to the form that saw her take second in the maidens won by Beyond Brilliance and Witches Brew during the summer.

Selection: CARRIE BOW CAY

4.30 FRIDAY HORSE RACING RETURNS 26TH SEPTEMBER HANDICAP (47-65) (DIVISION I) 1M

This could see Hoppsan add this race to the course and distance victory she recorded in November. She has been running quite well lately and finished a 1¾l third to Hilary at Bellewstown last week and she now meets that rival on 5lb better terms. Hilary lines up with an excellent chance and this former course and distance winner has a low draw to aid her cause. Another contender is Carla’s Princess who has reached the frame in 1m handicaps at this track on her last two outings. The Invincible Spirit filly comes here off a creditable 1½l third to Moonmeister last month. Art Scene and Anner Queen are two others that could make their presence felt.

Selection: HOPPSAN

5.00 FRIDAY HORSE RACING RETURNS 26TH SEPTEMBER HANDICAP (47-65) (DIVISION II) 1M

Xsquared has to contend with the burden of joint top weight but he still makes plenty of appeal. This former course and distance winner is just 2lb higher than when last successful on the flat and he has been in excellent form over hurdles throughout the summer. He is preferred to Cash Or Casualty whom he defeated when winning at this track two years ago. Cash Or Casualty has dropped some 20lb in the ratings over the last year and has shown signs of a revival lately. A low draw will suit this habitual front-runner whose rider claims a valuable 10lb. The Dancing Lord didn’t enjoy much luck in running over this course and distance last month. He has since shown up well at the Curragh.

Selection: XSQUARED

5.30 CROWNE PLAZA RACE & STAY HANDICAP (50-75) 2M

This could see Grandma Dotty record her second win of the campaign. She turned in a good effort to account for the well-in Clondaw Warrior in a 1m 4f handicap at Roscommon last month and she lost nothing in defeat when chasing home Belle Of The Ball at Ballinrobe the following week. She can see off the top weight Notable Graduate who showed definite signs of a revival when finishing a ¾l second to Tooreen Legend at Gowran Park during the week. Knight’s Parade won nicely over this trip at Tramore and went up just 3lb for that.

Selection: GRANDMA DOTTY
