1.20 Tally Ho Stud Irish EBF Fillies Maiden 6f

The Donnacha O’Brien-trained Balantina should know what is required of her on this second career start.

Sent off favourite for a similar race over course and distance earlier this month, the Ten Sovereigns filly ran very green before the penny dropped inside the last furlong. Keeping on nicely close home, she gave the impression that she was capable of better.

Naas runner-up Cape Sounion gives her trainer a very strong hand in this maiden. Having met trouble in running, the O’Brien-trained filly kept on strongly once in the clear, to chase home a well-regarded winner.

SELECTION: BALATINA

Next Best: Cape Sounion

1.55 GAIN Marble Hill Stakes (Group 3) 6f

Albert Einstein, who created a favourable impression when winning easily on debut, can remain unbeaten.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt quickened up smartly to justify his lofty market position and looks well-equipped for this step up in grade. Currently favourite for the Coventry Stakes, his position will strengthen should he land this prize.

Course-and-distance winner Andab couldn’t have done it any easier on his initial outing earlier this month. He, too, looks ready to be tested at a higher level against the leading juveniles.

SELECTION: ALBERT EINSTEIN

Next Best: Andab

2.30 Lanwades Stud Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies & Mares) 1m

Multiple Group 1 winner Porta Fortuna can concede weight to her rivals. Narrowly denied in the English Guineas on reappearance last season, the Donnacha O’Brien-trained filly won her next three starts at the highest level.

Although unable to continue that sequence at the Breeders’ Cup on her final run of the campaign, she acquitted herself well having met trouble in running.

The Willie McCreery-trained Jancis should appreciate returning to a mile, having been outstayed at Gowran Park recently. A progressive filly last term, she remains open to further improvement over what is arguably her optimum trip.

SELECTION: PORTA FORTUNA

Next Best: Jancis

4.15 QuinnBet Spring Fillies Handicap (Premier Handicap) 1m

A former Listed winner in her native France, La Guapisima can make an immediate impact on her debut for Gavin Cromwell.

Runner-up in a Group 3 at Baden-Baden on her final start last season, she can exploit what connections obviously feel is a lenient handicap mark before stepping back up in class.

Naas winner Shiota has to be respected despite being raised 7lb. The Joseph Murphy-trained filly has only had the six career starts, so has almost certainly not reached her peak just yet.

SELECTION: LA GUAPISIMA

Next Best: Shiota

4.50 Cryoclinic.ie Handicap 1m 6f

Lightly raced on the flat in recent seasons, Common Practice looks well-treated off a mark of 81.

A Grade 3 winner over fences in March, the Joseph O’Brien-trained six-year-old has undoubtedly improved since going jumping. The son of Gleneagles achieved his only previous success on the level when landing the Apprentice Derby here.

Killarney runner-up Robbies Rock is another horse that looks nicely treated in this sphere after showing improvement over jumps, and wears first-time cheekpieces.

SELECTION: COMMON PRACTICE

Next Best: Robbies Rock

5.25 Glenroyal Hotel & Shoda Cafe Irish EBF Fillies Maiden 1m 2f

Mittens can step forward a place on her eye-catching debut effort at Naas. The Jessica Harrington-trained filly lost her position early in the straight, before staying on again inside the final furlong to claim minor honours.

Sure to be all the sharper for that experience, she looks the one to beat in this finale.

As a half-sister to a Group 1 runner-up, the Aidan O’Brien-trained debutante Gifted merits attention. A daughter of Wootton Bassett, the newcomer has the pedigree to make her presence felt.

SELECTION: MITTENS

Next Best: Gifted
