Sent off a short-priced favourite before finishing mid-division in the Albany Stakes last time, Signora can recover losses. Following a promising debut effort when third in a Group 3 at Naas, the daughter of Frankel was expected to step up at Royal Ascot. Perhaps just lacking the experience for such a test, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly should appreciate this easier task.

As a full-sister to a blacktype colt, the Joseph O’Brien-trained newcomer Green Interlude has to be respected. O’Brien has his string in excellent form of late and, the stable struck with a well backed debutant for the same connections here recently.

Runner-up over course and distance last month, Empress Artemis can go one place better. A lightly-raced three-year-old, the Ger Lyons-trained filly has run well on all three starts since joining the stable. Despite having a bit to find with a few of these on recent form, she can win this. The 7lb claim of Nicola Burns can sway the race in her favour.

Recent Gowran Park winner Declaree has every chance off her revised mark. Making all on that occasion, the Johnny Murtagh-trained daughter of Fastnet Rock won’t be easily passed.

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained Tasmania looks nicely treated at these weights. A three-time winner in France, the daughter of Australia caught the eye on her recent stable debut at Newcastle.

Almost certainly capable of improving from that initial effort, the five-year-old has leading claims of opening her account on her second start for Prescott.

Higher Leaves should find this easier, having contested Group 1 races of late. A winner over this trip on her final start last season, the Henry de Bromhead-trained filly has every chance despite having to carry a penalty.

Having finished third in a stronger race at this track recently, Lady In Paris can resume winning ways. Off the mark at Leopardstown on her penultimate start, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly looked to improve on that form when staying on nicely for minor honours here last month. A reproduction of that latter run should suffice. Royal Ascot fourth Glen To Glen is entitled to improve on that first start for trainer Joseph O’Brien. A maiden winner at this track earlier in the season, the Dawn Approach gelding remains very unexposed.

Unbeaten in all four starts in this country, Diego Velazquez can maintain that perfect record. Conversely, the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt has never managed to win a race outside of Ireland. Although well beaten at Royal Ascot last time, that run can be safely be ignored given that he has never really performed on his travels.

UK raider Room Service has to be respected for the Kevin Ryan stable. Runner-up at York last time, the four-year-old did very well to get within a length of an all-the-way winner.

SELECTION: DIEGO VELAZQUEZ

Although yet to win over the minimum trip, the Paul Flynn-trained Rappell looks to hold strong claims. Runner-up here last month, the four-year-old is reasonably well handicapped at present and looks to have a nice draw close to the rails. Provided that he doesn’t get outpaced early on, the son of Soldier’s Call should be finishing strongly.

Handicap debutant Desert Power looks on a nice mark provided he has enough experience for this test. A lightly-raced four-year-old, the form of his last run at Navan has worked out well subsequently.

Fairyhouse runner-up Edelak can record a first career win. Narrowly denied at the Co Meath track, the form of that race received a boost when the third horse won next time.

His previous run, when fourth at Navan, has also worked out really well with a number of those who contested that maiden going on to advertise the form.

Light As Air has proven somewhat disappointing since his eye-catching seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown in March. If the colt can reproduce that effort then he is entitled to be involved at the finish.

Despite being one of her stable’s lesser lights on what she has shown thus far, Guarded can open her account. Runner-up at Naas last month, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly had previously finished third at that same venue.

Fitted with first-time cheekpieces now, the daughter of Frankel can win what looks an ordinary maiden for this track.

Navan second Treasure Rose shouldn’t be too far away. The Johnny Murtagh-trained filly was stepping up on a promising debut effort at Gowran Park. A lightly raced Inns Of Court filly, she is open to improvement.
