1.40 BIG BAD BOB (C&G) EBF MAIDEN 6F

Tribal Beat was unable to justify favouritism in the first two-year-old maiden of the season but he still ran a promising race to finish just under 2½l behind State Of Emergency. The better ground and longer trip of this race will both suit and the form of that maiden looks solid. Air Force Blue is the better drawn of the two Ballydoyle runners. This War Front colt hails from the family of top class American juvenile Flanders. Independence Day is another interesting newcomer as a brother to the crack juvenile Requinto.

Selection: TRIBAL BEAT

Next best: Air Force Blue

2.15 K CLUB HOTEL SPA & RYDER CUP VENUE HANDICAP 6F

Captain Cullen is taken to step forward from his creditable fourth to Joe Eile at Navan last week. He was beaten less than 1½l on that occasion and gave the impression that he would relish stepping back up to this trip. He is only 3lb higher than when scoring over this course and distance last year. Bubbly Bellini has started the season in terrific form and did finish in front of Captain Cullen when he was third in the Joe Eile race at Navan. He faces no easy task under a big weight but his burden is eased by his rider’s claim. In Salutem’s form ties in closely with his aforementioned rivals and he should again be thereabouts.

Selection: CAPTAIN CULLEN

Next best: Bubbly Bellini

2.45 AIRLIE STUD GALLINULE STAKES (GROUP 3) 1M 2F

Giovanni Canaletto looked a potentially top class middle distance colt when winning a Leopardstown maiden in some style on his second start last autumn. The Galileo colt won by 6½l on that occasion and, while the form of the race hasn’t worked out especially well, there was no denying that he won in the manner of a high class colt. It would not surprise if the English challenger Prince Gagarin emerged as his biggest threat. That colt ran respectably behind Not So Sleepy on his reappearance at Chester and last season his form included a listed success over a mile.

Selection: GIOVANNI CANALETTO

Next best: Prince Gagarin

4.30 N. CONLON & SONS BMW HANDICAP 1M 4F

A chance is take on Venezia following a solid comeback run at Dundalk last week where he was beaten just over 3l by Fog Of War in a rated race over an extended 1m 2f. He is now 10lb better off with that rival. Furthermore, this four-year-old showed quality handicap form over this trip last summer when he was fourth in a Royal Ascot handicap won by Elite Army. Urban Moon has work to do to reverse form with several of these having finished sixth in a Leopardstown handicap won by Ballybacka Queen a fortnight ago. However, this former course and distance winner was having his first run since August so he should now do better and he might just appreciate switching to this better surface.

Selection: VENEZIA

Next best: Urban Moon

5.00 IRISH TATLER CELEBRATING 125 YEARS HANDICAP 2M

Taglietelle made an encouraging return to the flat recently when he was beaten 1½l by Face Value in a Clonmel handicap over this trip. The switch to better ground could help and he again has his rider’s very useful 10lb claim to help. He has the capacity to land a good staying flat handicap. Silwana hasn’t run this season but was having just the third start of her career when reaching the frame in a quality 1m 6f handicap won by Toe The Line at Leopardstown last September. That form gives her every chance. The capable dual purpose horse Pyromaniac is very interesting but this trip is a step into the unknown.

Selection: TAGLIETELLE

Next best: Silwana

5.30 DUBLIN COACH TO THE CURRAGH RACES EBF MAIDEN 1M 2F

On his debut at Leopardstown two weeks ago, Bantry Bay ran a race of considerable promise when he tried to make all the running before being caught in the final yards by stablemate Bondi Beach. That effort come over 1m 4f but the Galileo colt shouldn’t have any trouble coming back to this distance and looks the one to beat. He could have most to fear from Brightly Shining who made an encouraging return from a year off to reach the frame in a 1m 2f Leopardstown maiden won by the subsequent Chester Vase hero Hans Holbein. The 86-rated Aared should be involved at the finish while the newcomer Mutazen, an own-brother to an American stakes winner, is another to keep in mind.

Selection: BANTRY BAY

Next best: Brightly Shining
