Bold Commander appears the Ballydoyle second string on jockey bookings but it could pay to take a chance on the No Nay Never colt on debut. A full-brother to a smart listed sprinter, he has a pedigree that suggests he should be very much at home over this trip.

Stablemate Sergei Diaghilev has to be of interest with Ryan Moore in the saddle. Undoubtedly an exciting long-term prospect, the son of Wootton Bassett may prefer a longer trip.

SELECTION: BOLD COMMANDER

Next best: Sergei Diaghilev

Third in last year’s German Oaks, Nyra can make a winning start to her career with Joseph O’Brien. A solid performer at blacktype level, the four-year-old handles decent ground and, has less questions to answer than the majority of her rivals in this competitive affair.

Lightly raced Kingman colt Purview has always been highly regarded by trainer Dermot Weld.

A listed winner at Cork on his final start last season, the Juddmonte-owned four-year-old has the scope to improve further this term.

SELECTION: NYRA

Next best: Purview

Unlucky in running when eighth here on his handicap debut recently, Playin Cool can gain compensation. Travelling easily over two furlongs out, the Johnny Feane-trained gelding had to wait for a gap before finishing off well. The form of that race has already been boosted and, the four-year-old holds solid claims.

Nothing went right for Yulia on her Irish debut at Sligo earlier this month. Repeatedly denied a run all the way up the straight, the Joseph O’Brien-trained filly was eased close home. It would be no surprise to see significant improvement here.

SELECTION: PLAYIN COOL

Next best: Yulia

Greenlands Stakes (Group 2) 6f

Shock 200/1 Champions Sprint winner Powerful Glory can continue his progression. A lightly raced four-year-old, the Richard and Peter Fahey-trained colt should appreciate the ground and, looks well drawn close to the favoured stands side.

Course-and-distance winner Bucanero Fuerte would be an apt winner in a week where his owner and trainer have been in the headlines. On his best form, the five-year-old has the ability to play a leading role under David Egan.

SELECTION: POWERFUL GLORY

Next best: Bucanero Fuerte

4.15 Heider Family Stables

Gallinule Stakes (Group 3) 1m 2f

Somewhat unlucky here over a mile last time, Drop Dead Gorgeous can resume winning ways. A well-bred daughter of Dubawi, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly just hit a flat spot at a crucial stage of the race and, found herself short of room. Staying on strongly close home, she gave the impression that this longer trip would bring about further improvement.

Stablemate Causeway has to be respected with Ryan Moore electing to ride. A progressive son of Wootton Bassett, the colt won nicely over a mile here recently but also raced as though these additional two furlongs would be very much in his favour.

SELECTION: DROP DEAD GORGEOUS

Next best: Causeway

4.50 NorthStandard Handicap 7f

Fourth at Naas earlier this month, Gavoo can strike for the in-form stable of David Marnane. Short of room over two furlongs out, the Elzaam gelding stayed on strongly inside the final furlong. With an additional furlong sure to suit here, it would be no surprise to see the dual scorer add a third success.

Morehampton has to improve on what he has shown to date but trainer Johnny Murtagh has a strong hand in this race and, stable jockey Ben Coen has elected to ride the Sea The Moon gelding.

SELECTION: GAVOO

Next best: Morehampton

5.25 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Habitat Handicap

Barbapapa is a speculative suggestion in a wide open affair. Trainer Henry de Bromhead has his flat string in rude health of late and, the seven-year-old has really taken to sprinting over the last year. Third in the corresponding race 12 months ago, he is better drawn on this occasion and looks a leading contender.

Aviatrice would arguably prefer further but has scored over this trip in the past. A huge improver on the all weather this winter, the David Marnane-trained filly looks nicely handicapped on turf off a 7lb lower mark.

SELECTION: BARBAPAPA

Next best: Aviatrice

The Shandyman can make it third time lucky. A promising fifth on his introduction at Naas in September, the Willie Mullins-trained gelding took a significant step forward when runner-up here the following month. A number of winners have already emerged from that race.

Count Bezukhov looked a certain future winner when third at Leopardstown recently. Although dropping back in trip doesn’t appear the obvious solution, he may have learned enough on his introduction to cope with this shorter distance.

SELECTION: THE SHANDYMAN

Next best: Count Bezukhov
