2.07 Irish Stallion Farms EBF
Fillies Maiden 6f
Madam Secretary can come forward from her introduction to win here. Third on her racecourse debut at Listowel last month, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly was weak in the market and, gave the impression that she would be all the better for that initial experience.
A half-sister to three winners, New Bond Street is of definite interest on her first start. Trainer Paddy Twomey has a good line into these type of races, so any positive support for the daughter of Havana Grey should be noted.
SELECTION: MADAM SECRETARY
Next best: New Bond Street
2.37 Mallow Handicap
(Premier Handicap) 7f
A winner of her last two starts, Bint Majestic Roi can complete the hat-trick. Value for more than the bare margin when getting up late at Naas last time, the Andrew Slattery-trained four-year-old escaped with a 5lb rise. Well drawn on this occasion, she can continue her winning sequence.
Third over six furlongs at the Curragh recently, Aviatrice should appreciate stepping up an extra furlong. Having landed a listed race on the all-weather over the winter, the David Marnane-trained filly looks well handicapped on turf off a 7lb lower mark.
SELECTION: BINT MAJESTIC ROI
Next best: Aviatrice
3.07 Follow Cork Racecourse On Social Media Maiden 5f
Runner-up at Navan last month, Xerling can go one better. Prominent throughout on that occasion, the Natalia Lupini-trained filly only gave best in the closing stages. With this quicker track likely to suit the daughter of Sioux Nation that bit better, she is taken to score.
Khafar is of obvious interest on her first start for Paddy Twomey. Placed once from three runs in Britain, the Dubawi filly has the services of Colin Keane on this occasion.
SELECTION: XERLING
Next best: Khafar
3.38 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Midsummer Sprint Stakes (Listed) 5f
It may be worth giving Eclairage another chance following a recent disappointing run at Epsom. A very speedy filly, the Danny Murphy-trained four-year-old wouldn’t have been suited to the testing ground on the day. Back on a sounder surface here, she could prove difficult to pass.
Gazelle D’or finished runner-up over this trip at Naas before again running with credit over further last time. Back down at the minimum distance, the Michael Grassick-trained filly should make her presence felt.
SELECTION: ECLAIRAGE
Next best: Gazelle D’or
4.13 Ryan’s Cleaning Handicap 5f
Provided the ground remains good, recent Dundalk maiden scorer Lamar Canyon can follow up. Having run well in a winners’ race on his previous appearance, the three-year-old provided trainer Tanya Browne with the perfect start to her training career.
Treasured Royal ran well when third in a better race at Naas on her penultimate start but was unable to back that up at Fairyhouse last time. A reproduction of that earlier run would see her go close.
SELECTION: LAMAR CANYON
Next best: Treasured Royal
4.48 Darley Munster Oaks Stakes (Group 3) 1m 4f
Sparan Nua can land this valuable prize to maintain her unbeaten record, this time sporting new colours after a recent sale. An impressive maiden winner at Naas last month, the form of that contest has already been well boosted by the runner-up.
Having continued her progress when landing a winners’ race at Gowran last time, the three-year-old can score for Jim Bolger.
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Beset is well treated at these weights and, has to be a leading contender. Far from disgraced in a Group 2 at the Curragh last time, she had previously finished second in this grade at that same venue.
SELECTION: SPARAN NUA
Next best: Beset
5.23 Racing Again Friday 10th July Handicap 1m
Roscommon fifth Avec Grand Plaisir can strike on his handicap debut. The Jarlath Fahey-trained gelding stayed on well enough to suggest that he should be capable of winning races. While a mile is probably on the sharp side for him, it is worth taking a chance that he copes with it here.
Chirac failed to cope with testing conditions when sent off favourite at Leopardstown last time. Back on a sounder surface now, John Feane’s colt has to be respected.
SELECTION: AVEC GRAND PLAISIR
Next best: Chirac
