2.10 Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden 6f 100yds

Anjalawi began her career with an encouraging third to Monaasib in a Curragh maiden last month where she was beaten just over 2½l and she looked like one who would sharpen up appreciably as a result. It is a slight concern that she is drawn quite wide but she might still be able to confirm form with Warrior Brave who finished 1½l behind her at the Curragh having previously run quite well in a Limerick maiden.

Another with a clear chance is the 79-rated Dame Dandy whose three runs are solid and last time out she chased home Fourhometwo in a Galway maiden. She too will have to contend with a wide draw.

2.45 Mallow Race 6f 100yds

This looks a good opportunity for the 99-rated Arctician. He is still a maiden after three starts but two of those runs have come at pattern level. He had the subsequent Tyros Stakes winner Military Style back in third when finishing runner-up in the Marble Hill. His third to Laws Of Indices and Lucky Vega in last month’s Railway Stakes looks like a strong piece of form in light of last week’s Phoenix Stakes.

Monaasib is a credible threat as he followed a good second to Teresa Mendoza in a Curragh maiden with a smooth success over 6f back at that track the following week.

3.20 Cork Handicap (45-70) 6f 100yds

Noirvento is a reliable type who could be able to win again despite being 6lb higher than when winning over a similar trip at Limerick in late June. She has run just once since then and showed that she was capable of adding to her tally off her current mark with an honourable 2½l third to Trueba at the Curragh.

Pixel Power is likely to be dangerous as she bids to follow up her success at Leopardstown on Thursday when she got up in the last couple of strides of a 7f handicap to deny Divine Celt.

In quite a competitive race, a good case could also be made for Drumquina, Improving and last week’s Sligo winner Earls.

3.55 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden 1m 2f

This might fall to Simply A Breeze who has run to a good standard on two of her three outings so far. She struggled to make an impression on her comeback at Naas earlier in the season but produced a much more encouraging effort at the Curragh last month when third in a decent looking maiden won by Etneya and where the subsequent winner Never Forgotten took second.

Watchmen could be the biggest danger to the selection. This drop back in trip mightn’t be ideal for John Oxx’s charge but he has run with plenty of promise on both his outings and shown enough to suggest that he can win a maiden. His third to Danger Money at Tipperary last week is a solid effort.

4.30 Corkracecourse.ie Handicap (45-75) 1m 2f

Canford Light is a speculative choice. He didn’t make much of an impression in maidens but his handicap debut at Sligo when he was fifth to Little Brother was quite encouraging. That run came over an extended 1m 4f and he shaped a good deal better than the final result which saw him beaten just over 6l into fifth.

That initial handicap experience coupled with this drop in trip should work in his favour.

He is chosen to see off Do The Twist who also shaped up well on her handicap debut at Galway when beaten less than 2l into fourth by Ya Ya Baby. The last-named is in the line up once again but over this longer trip and with a 5lb swing in the weights Do The Twist might reverse that form.

5.00 Fermoy Handicap (45-70) 1m 2f

A wide draw here is a concern for Musalsal but he comes here in much better form than many of his rivals and he might well be able to record his third victory of the season.

He has won handicaps over a mile and an extended 1m 1f at Gowran Park in recent weeks and might well be able to win again despite being 10lb higher in the weights.

New Vocation has run several solid races in defeat lately, the most recent of which saw him finish fifth to Out On Friday in a handicap at Galway. This looks a good trip for her and a low draw is also in her favour.

5.30 Millstreet Handicap 1m

Yafordadoe might be the solution. He won twice over 7f late last season and while the ground here is unlikely to be as testing he looks capable of a bold showing.

He comes here off a decent fifth to Sirjack Thomas in a 1m handicap at Galway a fortnight ago had a maiden hurdle victory at this track in July.

He can deal with The Mpex Kid who is 15lb higher than when scoring at Fairyhouse in June. That rival comes here in fine heart though having twice reached the frame at Galway, going down by just a neck against Darkened on his second start at Ballybrit.
