12.30 Paddy Power From The Horse’s Mouth Podcast Maiden Hurdle 2m
Mailloche can make a winning start to his Irish career. Runner-up on his hurdling debut for previous connections at Auteuil last October, the gelding has his first start for trainer Willie Mullins. With the stable having a strong record with similar types over the last number of years, he looks the one to beat.
A Grade 3 bumper winner in his native France, Marco Du Seuil holds every chance for Gordon Elliott. Although twice a beaten favourite since joining the stable, the son of Galiway has reached the frame on both occasions. With the benefit of that experience, he has every chance of gaining a first Irish success.
SELECTION: MAILLOCHE

A Grade 2 runner-up in an Aintree bumper last season, Lennon Grove should come on from a recent debut over hurdles. Having finished a promising third at Listowel last month, the Gavin Cromwell-trained mare gives the impression that she has more to come. It would be no great surprise to see the five-year-old step forward here.
An 85-rated mare on the flat, Cornelienne shaped with promise on both her starts over hurdles last season. Runner-up at Fairyhouse in January, the Joseph O’Brien-trained five-year-old should be fit for this assignment following a couple of recent outings on the level.
SELECTION: LENNON GROVE

A course and distance winner for previous connections a few years back, West Away can add to that here. In fine form over fences for current trainer Pat Collins, the eight-year-old reverts to hurdling now off a 10lb lower mark. Runner-up in a stronger contest at Listowel last time, the son of Westerner holds leading claims.
Well fancied when second at Listowel in September, Who’s Da Goose shouldn’t be far away. Trainer Eoin McCarthy had targeted the four-year-old at that particular meeting and connections were confident of a big run. Having met just one too good, he remains of interest off only 4lb higher.

Willie Mullins can land this with recent Listowel winner Roc Dino. A lightly raced five-year-old, the former French-trained gelding showed promise on a couple of occasions last season. Having come back into training a much stronger horse, the son of Doctor Dino has already scored twice this term. It is surely significant that he was the stable’s only entrant in this race.
Off the track since May, Theflyingking would be a threat to all if ready after an absence. A smart performer last season, the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding finished runner-up in a Grade 3 hurdle at Navan in November. As a former point-to-point winner, he should appreciate stepping up to this trip.
SELECTION: ROC DINO

Unbeaten in two starts over fences, Frankie John can complete the hat-trick. Off the mark at Galway in July, the Denis Hogan-trained gelding stepped up on that form when landing a Grade 3 chase at Gowran Park last time. Despite having to concede weight to all but one of his rivals here, the grey gives the impression he has more to offer.
Fourth behind Frankie John at Galway in July, Love Me Tender showed significant improvement to score at Listowel last time. While he will need to step up again in this better race, the son of Doctor Dino almost certainly has more to offer.

A lightly-raced son of Motivator, the Willie Mullins-trained Fou De Toi is largely unexposed as a chaser. Winner of his last two starts, he couldn’t have been more impressive when scoring at Gowran Park last time. Despite having to carry top-weight in this stamina sapping contest, the five-year-old could have a class edge.
Just denied in this race two years ago, Positive Thinker has been lightly raced in the interim. A thorough stayer who will have no issues with either trip or ground, the nine-year-old ran respectably when seventh in the Munster National recently. This race is sure to have been the plan for some time.
SELECTION: FOU DE TOI

Colin’s Friend, who ran a big race in third at Killarney last time, can gain a first career success. Sent off market leader on that occasion, the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding had shaped with definite promise when fourth on his stable debut at Galway on his previous start. On the basis of those two runs, he looks the one to beat.
Tramore runner-up Polly Poppins has every chance off just 2lb higher. The form of that latter race received a boost of sorts when the winner was awarded a race over fences at Galway on his next start.
SELECTION: COLIN’S FRIEND
