12.10 Paddy Power From The Horse’s Mouth Podcast Maiden Hurdle 4-y-o (Division 1) 2m 60yd
Mister Pessimistic has made a smooth transition from the point-to-point field to the racecourse. A warm favourite and positively ridden, he had the more experienced Grey Jude back in third place when winning a bumper at the Listowel Festival and can build on that now. Grey Jude also goes over hurdles for the first time and should place again, possibly at the main expense of flat recruit Liamo.

I’m Slippy showed plenty of determination to win the valuable Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse in April and might just make a winning jumping debut. He looked to handle the testing conditions that day and any easing of the ground here might help. Foxy Footprints has a more recent run in a bumper at Punchestown under her belt and she can improve, perhaps presenting more of a challenge than racecourse first-timers Harty Cup and Family Getaway.

1.10 Paddy Power “I Still Call It Twitter” Handicap Hurdle 2m 60yd
Crowsatedappletart has won three handicap chases since he last ran over hurdles. He landed a nice pot over fences at his beloved Limerick when last seen and now boasts a chase rating of 117, well ahead of his hurdles mark of just 103. Hopefully this drop back in trip won’t catch him out and he can beat Eastmore who was a winner on quicker ground at the end of August and has finished a runner-up on two starts since. Mary’s Pride shaped up well on his first start in 10 months at Fairyhouse three weeks ago.
SELECTION: CROWSATEDAPPLETART
Next best: Eastmore

Echoing Silence looked promising when winning her bumper from the front at Down Royal on St Patrick’s Day and goes back over hurdles now. She had run a fair race in a maiden hurdle at Navan last December and might now be a match for Divaboriva who also goes jumping again after taking third place behind Carrigmoornaspruce and Seo Linn in a Grade 3 mares’ bumper at the Punchestown Festival. Working Away makes her racecourse debut almost three years to the day after her point-to-point success.
SELECTION: ECHOING SILENCE

2.10 Paddy Power “How Many Days ‘Til Christmas?” Irish EBF Novice Hurdle (Listed) 3m 100yd
Cardcounter is well clear of ratings and should resume winning ways. He looked nicely above average last season with wins at Punchestown and over a trip closer to today’s at Navan a few weeks later. While down the field when tried in a season-ending Grade 1 at Punchestown, this is a lesser task. Tackletommywoowoo was at his best when winning here three weeks ago but he’ll need to be better again and the Listowel Festival maiden hurdle winner Good Girl Kathleen could be more of a danger.
SELECTION: CARDCOUNTER

Mossy Fen Park can improve on his victory at the Listowel Festival to win. Running for the first time in over nine months, he comfortably accounted for subsequent winner Oscars Brother and is entitled to be better again now. His form in a couple of runs over fences this time last year reads well and he should beat Ol Man Dingle which also edged out a subsequent scorer when successful at Galway. Nurburgring was favourite for the Galway Plate but was trailing when pulled up after the third-last fence.
SELECTION: MOSSY FEN PARK
Next best: Ol Man Dingle
3.20 Paddy Power Cork Grand National Handicap Chase (Listed) 3m 4f
Any number of these could be considered but Fortunedefortunata is worth chancing. He bounced back to form in the Grand National Trial Handicap Chase at Punchestown in February and might have fared a little better in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter but for an early mistake. Big Debates scored a runaway success off a much lower handicap mark over hurdles at Navan in September and should play a part while the hat-trick seeking Spellacy’s Cross is at the foot of the weights, but he is 4lbs out of the handicap proper.
SELECTION: FORTUNEDEFORTUNATA
Next best: Big Debates

His Nibs shaped up nicely enough on his handicap hurdle debut at Leopardstown last Christmas and could go well on first run back. He ran in some nice maiden hurdles and was favourite for his Leopardstown start, travelling well into the straight before fading before the omitted final flight. There might be more improvement to come and could have the edge over a few of these, including Inchidaly Copper, the most recent winner in the field which backed up his Killarney success with a fair effort at Limerick. Plunkett Street is a winner on the flat since his last jumping start.
