Having finished fourth over two miles here last time, Yosemite Gold should appreciate the longer trip. Held up on that occasion, the Eoin Doyle-trained gelding made eye-catching late headway. Over an additional furlong and a half, the stoutly-bred son of Golden Horn looks open to improvement. Killeaney Bear is an interesting recruit to jumping. A three-time winner on the flat last season, Andrew Slattery’s Kodi Bear gelding would have every chance if stamina holds out.

SELECTION: YOSEMITE GOLD

Bellewstown winner Chortal should be able to make it back-to-back successes for Gordon Elliott. A smart handicapper on the flat, the four-year-old had shown promise on more than one occasion over hurdles before landing his maiden last time. Only raised 3lb for that easy victory, he could be well treated. King In Love had looked a progressive novice prior to pulling up at Fairyhouse. If none the worse, the locally-trained gelding appears to have every chance in a competitive heat.

Dippedinmoonlight can make a winning start to her career over hurdles. A former point-to-point winner, the Emmet Mullins-trained five-year-old finished runner-up on her rules debut at Down Royal in August.

Having easily opened her account at Downpatrick, she picked up blacktype when third in a listed bumper at Gowran Park. Galway bumper winner Cameletta Vega needs to improve, but has to be respected given connections. A switch to hurdling may suit.

Progressive on the flat when last seen, the Barry Connell-trained Tannery Park is interesting reverting to hurdling. Lightly raced over jumps having had just the five starts, the son of Golden Horn is bred to appreciate this step up in trip. His trainer has kept faith despite his modest form.

Next Stop Paris disappointed at Clonmel on his penultimate start having been well supported when falling at Fairyhouse. Following a promising effort at Bellewstown recently, the Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding merits respect.

Danny Gilligan looks a significant booking on the Tony Martin-trained Aurea Fortuna. A strong traveller who doesn’t always find as much as expected, the gelding should be ideally suited to his jockey’s patient style. Expect to see the six-year-old dropped out before arriving late. Encountering better ground here could also aid the son of Mount Nelson.

Dual-winning chaser General Clermont should run a big race off his lower hurdles mark. Davy Fitzgerald’s charge has also been successful over flights, but can race off 10lb lower in that discipline.

SELECTION: AUREA FORTUNA

Jacovec Cavern looks to have been found a nice opportunity. Twice a winner on the flat, the six-year-old was in the process of shedding his maiden tag over hurdles when exiting at the last here on his penultimate start. A proven stayer who handles decent ground conditions, he sets the standard. Nytol, who took minor honours here last time, should make her presence felt. The Terence O’Brien-trained mare had previously twice run well over this trip.

SELECTION: JACOVEC CAVERN

Next best: Nytol

Well backed when a beaten favourite at Navan last time, Driveonwill can recover losses here. The Ross O’Sullivan-trained gelding was subsequently found to have lost a shoe and suffered an over reach. The lightly-raced five-year-old has the scope to improve further. Stepping up to three miles also boasts his chances.

Point-to-point winner He Might Be Lucky could run well at a bigger price. An eye-catcher when fourth at Clonmel earlier in the year, he has yet to reproduce that form but would be dangerous.

SELECTION: DRIVEONWILL

A well-bred daughter of Camelot, Woodland Adventure catches the eye. Although her half-sister won a Group 3 on the flat, she has obviously been slower to mature. It will be interesting to see how strong she is in the market. Samba Train, who finished mid-division on her debut in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last month, looks the danger. Enda Bolger doesn’t run that many in bumpers, so he must feel she is capable of running well.
