10:55 Diana Stakes (Grade 1) (3yo+ Fillies & Mares) (Turf) 9 furs

A select field of turf fillies line up for tonight’s Grade 1 with the Brendan Walsh-trained Proctor’s Ledge seeking her first Grade 1 success.

Five fillies are Grade 1 or Grade 2 stakes winners and both the Chad Brown-trained A Raving Beauty and Sistercharlie have won at the top level this year.

A Raving Beauty won the Grade 1 Longines Just a Game Stakes in June and Sistercharlie was victorious in the Grade 1 Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes in April.

Proctor’s Ledge captured the Grade 2 Longines Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes in May before a runner-up effort in the Just a Game. New Money Honey (also Chad Brown) won the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in 2016 and a pair of graded stakes last year, including the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks Invitational.

Graham Motion runs Ultra Brat and the formerly British-raced Hawksmoor, the mount of Julien Leparoux for Arnaud Delacour is not without a chance. A Raving Beauty is unbeaten in her two US contests and could give Mastercraftsman another win at top level this season.

SELECTION: A RAVING BEAUTY

The Grade 3 Sandford Stakes for two-year-olds is also on the card and Todd Pletcher’s Sombeyay is the likely favourite.

SARATOGA SUNDAY

10:40 Coaching Club American Oaks (Grade 1) (3yo Fillies) (Dirt) 1m 1f

There is only a field of five for the Saratoga three-year-old Grade 1 tomorrow night but it is a fascinating rematch between the two top fillies of the grade. Monomoy Girl, unbeaten in her four races this season and winner of the Kentucky Oaks, is on a Grade 1 four-timer. She added the Grade 1 Acorn to her Oaks win last time out.

The filly who started favourite in Churchill Downs, Midnight Bisou (Mike Smith), who finished third, renews rivalry after she had returned to winning ways in the Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont last time.

SELECTION: MONOMOY GIRL

Next best: Midnight Bisou
