GORDON Elliott won five races on the Far Hills American Grand National card last year and sends a team of five more horses for this evening’s fixture. He also won the race in 2018 with Jury Duty while Hewick was another Irish-trained winner in 2022.

In the featured Grade 1 American Grand National (9.05pm), Elliott is represented by the Punchestown Grade 1 winner Western Fold and by Zanahiyr, who beat fellow raider Ballysax Hank a head to win the race last season.

Western Fold, the 2025 Galway Plate winner, came back to winning way in taking the Grade 1 Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase beating Fleur In The Park by three and a half lengths. He prepped for this behind Banbridge on the flat at Gowran last month.

Zanahiyr (Danny Gilligan) could only finish seventh in the Grade 1 Calvin Houghland Iroquois Stakes earlier in the summer. He was also well beaten in a Clonmel flat race but this was more likely to be his long-term target.

Jack Fisher and Riverdee Stable’s Zabeel Champion won the Grade 1 Calvin Houghland Iroquois Stakes in May where Fil Dor was fourth and James Du Berlais was fifth.

The Irish-bred Mr Percy, the youngest horse in the field at six, comes off two Saratoga wins including the Grade 1 Jonathan Sheppard Memorial Handicap last month and could be the danger under Graham Watters but Western Fold should have too much class for the home team.

In the Foxbrook Champion Hurdle Presented by FanDuel (8.11pm), Keri Brion aims to take one for the home team with Vae Patron the mount of Stephen Mulqueen who heads Lizzie Twigg. The eight-year-old was second in the Grade 1 Colonial Cup Stakes last season though was pulled up last time in Grade 1 company.

Lizzie Twigg comes here off a hat-trick of wins, the most recent being the Listed Colm Quinn BMW Novice Hurdle at the Galway Festival. The Poet’s Word mare should be good enough.

Conor Tierney has the mount on Lynches Knock, the Irish-bred was trained by Grodon Elliott to win at Cork in March before being sold to Del Rio Racing and runs for Richard Hendriks

San Hilario for Elliott and Del Rio Racing headlines the morning line markets for the McDynamo Maiden Hurdle Presented by The Moran Family (7.35pm). Though well beaten on his last two outings, his previous four second places given enough hope for an event like this.

Also now in the Del Rio Racing ownership, Elliott runs Porcupine Bank with Jack Kennedy on board in the Harry E. Harris S. Presented by Double Cross Vodka for four-year-olds over two miles and a furlong (7.50pm). His form looks good enough for success here. Pleasant Fantasy for Bernard Dalton is the best of the Americans while Danny Mullins rides Secret Force for Barry Foley.
