LISRONAGH

4yo Maiden Division 1

EVERYBODY’S TALKIN (IRE)

4yo ch g Robin Des Champs - Miss Otis Regrets (Bob Back)

The family of Everybody’s Talkin is one his breeder, veterinary surgeon Walter Connors, has been very closely associated with, having had his colours carried to success in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle back in 1991 by the third dam Sharp Approach.

She produced Charles Egerton’s ill-fated 140-rated chaser Graphic Approach and Resolute Approach, the grandam of Everybody’s Talkin, among others. Both Resolute Approach and her Bob Back daughter, Miss Otis Regrets, the dam of Everybody’s Talkin, were trained by Eddie Hales and ran in Connors’ colours, with latter winning a Limerick bumper.

4yo Maiden (Div 2)

STORM CONTROL (IRE)

4yo b g September Storm - Double Dream (Double Eclipse)

Bred by John Kidd, who previously stood September Storm, the victory of Storm Control is a third four-year-old maiden winner to date for the German-bred stallion.

Costing €27,000 out of last year’s Goffs Land Rover Sale, the bay gelding is a full-brother to Dan Skelton’s recent Bangor hurdle winner Atlantic Storm and a half-brother to Paul Nicholls’ point-to-point graduate Tagrita, who has now won seven races under rules including a listed contest over hurdles. Their unraced Double Eclipse dam is herself well-related as a half-sister to the Scottish National winner Grey Abbey.

BROUGHSHANE

4yo Maiden

THE HOLY ONE (IRE)

4yo b g Court Cave - Vickate (Old Vic)

By the same sire as Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival victor Willoughby Court, The Holy One was bred by Rosemary Swan, whose colours his Old Vic-sired dam, The Holy One, carried to success in a Belclare maiden. She was also placed four times under rules and is a half-sister to Gordon Elliott’s 138-rated chaser Jamsie Hall. She also has two full-sisters to The Holy One, aged two and three, and a yearling filly by Kalanisi.

CURRAHEEN

4yo Mares Maiden

BE MY WESTERNER (IRE)

Westerner - Jenny’s Jewel (Be My Native)

Bred by Dave Slattery, whose colours the Westerner mare carried to victory at Curraheen, Be My Westerner is the sixth foal from her Be My Native-sired dam, Jenny’s Jewel, who was placed in a Kildorrery maiden 16 years ago.

This victory continues the decent strike-rate which her dam has had with her runners, having also produced dual track winner Western Jo and prolific British point-to-point winner Jepeck who brought his winning tally into double figures with his latest success at Cherrybrook last month.

LOUGHREA

4yo Maiden

MOONSHINE BAY (IRE)

4yo b g Milan - Chantoue Royale (Cadoudal)

Bred by Patrick Cullinan, he is out of a French-bred Cadoudal mare, Chantoue Royale, who was a track winner in her native France before also enjoying success in England in a Fontwell chase.

Since retiring to the paddocks, she has already produced a number of track winners in Preseli Rock, Westhorpe and Cinematique. She has also produced Le Aqua, who finished placed at Largy a fortnight ago for Ross O’Sullivan and has a three-year-old by Oscar who was sold to Weirside Farm for €16,000 as a foal.

DAWSTOWN

4yo Geldings (Div 1)

GET OUT THE GATE (IRE)

4yo b g Mahler - Chartani (King’s Theatre)

A €26,000 purchase by his current owner, Jason Higgins, out of last year’s Derby Sale, Get Out The Gate is the second foal which his King’s Theatre dam, Chartani, has produced. A half-sister to Donnchadh Doyle’s dual points victor A Bold Move, she was a two-time track winner for Henry de Bromhead and her breeder Cherry Faseste.

She also has a three-year-old Arcadio filly who was bought by John Quinn at Goffs as a yearling.

4yo Geldings (Div 2)

DON DES FOSSES (FR)

4yo b g Denham Red - Sara Des Fosses (Califet)

Success for Don Des Fosses in the final four-year-old maiden of the weekend, prevented a clean-sweep for Irish-breds in the seven younger age maidens which were staged over the May bank holiday weekend. Donnchadh Doyle has been the chief supporter of his sire Denham Red in Irish points, responsible for all bar one of his runners between the flags here.

That late stallion, who stood at Haras De La Rousseliere, was also the sire of Willie Mullins’ Grade 1 Ryanair Chase winner Un De Sceaux.
